The analyst in the Zimbabwe camp is a guy called Anesu Kafesu. He is clueless, doesn't know a thing about cricket. So, TRUE, the last statement.

And the thing about Tymcen does seems to make sense. Number three is a tricky position, especially when the team is eternally 5/1. I don't know, however, what a board or selection panel could ever hope to gain by sabotaging young and promising players, like Forster Mtizwa and anyway Vusi is an opener. Definately does sound like a consiparancy, that.

We have a President who sabotaged a young and promising country - self interest, power struggles...

Based on current form he doesnt make the cut. But if he was in form and was not fast enough I would rather have him. Then our bowling coaches must work with him to rectify his action.

It's quite obvious that his lack of pace will hold him back from playing for Zimbabwe for some time yet. He needs to change his action, he's got too much to do at the wicket due to a laboured and lengthy run up. Better bowlers around now anyhow

A solitary match, Zimdoggy? Is that all it takes to be a permanent fixture in the side. If so then Charles Coventry should be our permanent number six; indeed his name ought to be nailed with a mast on to the selectors door. Or Hamilton Masakadza, who at 16 made a Test century and saved a Test match in the process.

Once upon a time Brendan Taylor averaged 34 in 40 odd matches. Now he averages 29,8. This is a four point drop in a static acquired over 6 years of cricket and 97 one day internationals, and it's a pretty damning indictment.

Secondly I don't recall initially comparing Madondo with Whittal or Rennie. I wrote that he was better than some players, but not once did I mention or even imply Whittal or Rennie by name. In fact this is the first time Gavin Rennie's name has entered my conversation. Why don't you quote me like you did just now.

@Eugene: Nobody is trying to demean Guy Whittal's achievements. That he averaged a little over 29 in Test cricket is fact. Not fiction. Not even opinion. Seriously, Whittal one of the ALL TIME greats? At average 29? But given Zim's reletively short history in Test cricket I guess he qualifies

Lol just came across this while looking for something and just thought maybe Streak had some bitterness cos Mpariwa was the fastest to 50wickets even though he wasn't fast.
