Opening post

Bangladesh v Zimbabwe

Chittagong, 5 November 2009

Ahem. Moving quickly onwards....

This is now a face-saver and our last chance to take something resembling "form" into the short series against South Africa. Although somehow, I'm not overly hopeful...

I'm not venturing into selecting a playing XI here. Whoever plays, hope they play well.

A report from the Bangladeshi Daily Star

http://www.thedailystar.net/newDesign/n ... nid=112584

I know the report refers to the 4th ODI, but will the wicket be the same for the 5th ?, it seems that the match referee wanted to know why it produced 'too much turn in the morning'

Hmmm can we really resign ourselves to fate. I knw that the team is not a 44 all out team. They really need to get out there and play the game the way it should be.
bad or good wicket both teams still have to bat and bowl on the wicket..

Im dreaming of his return :)
Surely mpofu get picked for this game.deserves a chance after his logan cup form and the last game against kenya

I dont think ive ever felt such a lack of hope for a voctory before a match beofre, its not that i dont think the side has talant as they do its more a case of dreading watching our batsman playing 40+ overs of spin and making enough mistakes to loose the match

Another typically hazy Chittagong day it seems. Bangladesh won the toss and have put Zimbabwe in to bat. I was hoping Zimbabwe would bat second. Mpofu in for Jarvis and Mutizwa in for Coventry.
My All-time Zimbabwe XI
Neil Johnson, Brendan Taylor, Murray Goodwin, Andy Flower (w), David Houghton, Sean Williams, Heath Streak (c), Andy Blignaut, Paul Strang, Eddo Brandes, Blessing Muzarabani

221-9 is a good result given the dire situation we were in earlier in the day. Great effort from BRM Taylor. He has come back into form just in time for the South Africa series. Let's hope Price and Cremer can pin down the Bangladeshi batsmen.

Yes congrats to Brendan Ross Murry Taylor on your first ODI century

I have no problem with his being a little selfish there as he has represented Zimbabwe since the age of 18 and he deserves to reach a 100 more than anyone else in the side as we have been able to see him grow as a player and he has consistantly performed and has the highest average in the side for someone playing over 50 matches.

He played the perfect ODI innings today and put the other batsman to shame.

Bet you know who will be proud ;)
have to read about it in the morning, too late in the US...great effort by Taylor
zimfan any live stream fot the match 2day?
Good innings by Taylor only Chigumbura assisted in taking a bit of pressure of him but we have had a few matches where only one guy does well and the rest disspointing (Coventry's knock, Vermulen's 92, Masakadza's Century). Our batsmen just cant click at the same time thats the main disadvantage we have, but i hope we will be able to defend double nelson.
thanx Zimfan1 for link :W: :W: :W:
