Yeah, there's nothing ungenuine about the win itself. Things like D/L, umpiring call, etc go both ways and today we were the beneficiaries of it.
I think there's still a feeling of hollowness in that we as fans were deprived of an exciting finish due to bizarre umpiring though. I think if they are willing to play through rain, then they may as well be willing to play through bad light.
Providing it's not dangerous, I'd prefer to see the players out on the field. I think the Zim boys were time wasting a bit with the sawdust on the crease, and we've got no bowlers fast enough to worry the batsmen on the bad light front. It certainly wasn't as dark as the 2007 World Cup final. So with only 2 overs to go, you may as well just see the game through to its conclusion I reckon.
Who knows what would have happened, maybe the umpires did us a favour. I still think we would have held on though (another wicket would have finished them), but they certainly gave us a good scare.
