Anyway, the squad is really bowler heavy as I pointed out. And agree with eugene and takleg here, its the Masakadzas, Sibandas, Cremers and Utseyas who need quality game time if we need to progress further. This squad of 22 is a farce. We talk about the struggles of the spinners selected (Mugava's absence is indeed baffling if they were looking beyond the top 15), but what has Raza done in the last season? Or Chamu for that matter?

As others have pointed out the squad carries quite a few passengers (Matanga et al). The omission of Mugava is baffling, but it might be that he's not available due to his club cricket stint in the UK -- or that they don't expect him to make the final XI anyway, so there's no need to call him back to Zim only to sit on the sidelines?

Querl is a different case, because if he opts for country over county exposure with the Unicorns he can rightfully expect to play.
