I think it is time Chigs earns his place again. Same for Matsi.

Certain picks for me - Taylor, Hami, Ervine, Jarvis, Price, Cremer. In any form of the game these are the only players that look like they want to compete at international level.

Other picks that I am open to - Sibanda, Mawoyo (Test only), Mpofu (Test & ODI only), Utseya (spin depth if either Price or Cremer are injured or we are in BD), Vitori, Mutizwa (Test wk), Chakabva (same as Mutizwa), Muzhange (T20 only atm), Williams (all forms if he is serious), Meth (All formats - to replace Chigs), Waller (Squad batsman - has to learn to catch),

Time to go - Matsi, Elton.

Outsiders to consider - Maybe Ewing, maybe Shingi & Chatara as squad bowlers - which is where they are atm.

Test team then looks like this probably - Mawoyo, Sibanda, Masakadza, Taylor, Ervine, Williams, Mutizwa/Chakabva (whichever scores most 100s & 50s before next test), Cremer, Price, Jarvis, Mpofu/Vitori (11th &12th men).

ODI team then looks like this probably - Sibanda, Masakadza, Taylor, Ervine, Williams, Waller, Cremer, Meth, Price, Jarvis, Mpofu/Vitori (11th&12th men).

T20 team looks like this probably - Sibanda, Masakadza, Taylor, Ervine, Williams, Ewing, Cremer, Meth/Utseya (Depending on location), Price, Jarvis, Vitori/Muzhange (11th &12th men).

I think we need to retain most of our stability. We do need some structural change though, and I think the reliance/ hope for Chigs needs to be done away with. He needs to produce some really big runs, not just cameos to get back into the team at 6. We are much better to rely on Hami & part time spin as our 5th option and get a proper batsman in the lineup than try and get an allrounder's effort from Elton. He is failing in both disciplines, let alone managing both. Cremer needs to keep improving his batting. Better to make him and Meth bowling allrounders and have a proper top 6 (ODI&T20) or 7 (in tests).

could see that Taylor was about to break in tears. its the end of the road and reflections here are much needed

1 elton is tried and tested. give other guys a chance like the young malcolm lake or keegan meth, they are better allrounders

2 guys like williams with experience, or kasuza maybe should be the core of the middle order batsmen

3 coventry was much needed since he is good in this shorter version of the game

4 why carry muzhange when he wasnt going to play in any of the games ??

5 a fielding coach is very much needed. zim was known to be brilliant in the field now its pathetic.....

6 zim needs a better analyst so that the guys know what exactly they`re likely to face

Gavin Ewing springs to mind....

Gavin ewing can bat and bowl spin well he has been perfoming well for his team better allround player than utseya

T20 team looks like this probably - Sibanda, Masakadza, Taylor, Ervine, Williams, Ewing ...

Guys, I understand everyone's frustration, but what excactly makes a player who can't even make the Tusker's T20 side an automatic choice for the national team?

Exactly.

He has been decent, but not outstanding, over the 3 years of franchise cricket, and his previous international record suggests that he is not going to set the world stage alight. He is also regularly reported to be significantly out of shape during the off-season, and this has even been quoted in official releases as the reason why he hasn't made training squads in the past. As for his bowling... He almost never gives himself a trundle for the Tuskers, so the chances of him being a reliable member of the national side's bowling attack would appear to be slim-to-zero...

He may (may!) improve the team marginally, but frankly, that's about it...

Yes, clearly the cupboard is bare. A call to include Ewing must have gained more momentum than ever before, as we have seen the current crop struggle regularly. He may not be the savior or may not have set the world alight, but he has been solid, and even without considering all this fallout, probably deserves his chance anyway.

I was suprised at how brainless the selections for this tour were which were a complete replica of the 50 overs sides and test sides ( if you discount mawoyo) Zimbabwe selectors should be savvy enough to know that sides need to be interchangeable so get the 20/20 specialists in such as Coventry and also Keegan Meth...Hell I would even pick Zhuwayo over chigumbura nowadays,

When was Chigumbura even at his peak ? has he ever been a consistent batter or bowler ?

The squad was not a T20 squad. Look at England, Aus etc, they send a T20 side to a T20 competition. We send people who we've known for years and yet we know they've never performed in this format. Let's take the whole lot out of the T20 squad and put in people with potential to hit the ball. Vusi and Mpofu don't play this format the way you're supposed to but they are good Test players. I really think we've a basis for a competent Test team, let's stick to it. But the one day squads need an overhaul.

I would have sent Kazuza, see what he could have done. Kazuza and Ewing
