They have misspelled his name (Paterson, not Patterson) but otherwise an interesting, albeit confusing story. I imagine he will eventually be driven off his land and to be honest I sometimes wonder why white farmers continue to battle on. Perhaps with a change of government they might be able to stay on the land but I doubt it. The 'land reform' process is irreversible now.

Wouldn't bet the farm on that. Not many farmers have surrendered their deeds. If there is ever any change they will have to revisit how banks will lend money so farmers can grow food for us. Current crop of farmers can barely feed themselves. The few guys that have hung in deserve a munda. 400 good commercial farmers could probably feed the nation anyway. We need 4000 frog and dog breeders for our Chinese colonizers though.
