I would agree on Panya ... 9 is probably a reaction to what we expected but he deserves at least 7.5 for bowling tirelessly, intelligently and accurately over the two tests!
yesterday I was happy with Chatara's 10 - but yes, a 10 should be for something REALLY individually special. I'll go with 9.5. :)
if you're happy with Waller then you must be happy with Elton as the two had and complete mirror series ...
Mutumbami kept really well and his runs on day 4 were probably the difference in the end...
then we come to Tino ... coming back from injury with no match practice behind him he was always going to be a gamble (but a fairly safe one considering the alternatives) in the first Test. He did comparitively ok ... BUT, importantly, despite a rough decision in the first innings he steeled himself when it really mattrred and delivered at the top when just about everyone else failed. 1 score in 3 (I can' t include the decision because I have the benefit of hindsight) a very good zim test opener makes (especially when noone but Hammi made two good scores in 4) .... I suppose we can "could've" about Taylor and Raza ....

Well, this was written by a Zimbabwean cricket fan in the Zimbabwean context in ecstasy of yesterday's win. So, what do you expect? :)
I know some of the points are a little on the high side, but this was by far our best effort in test cricket since readmission, and arguably one of the best ever in our history. We won 8.5 of the 10 days of test cricket (again, a bit of fanaticism here, when i say we won 8.5 days, it means we won or competed equally on 8.5 days, which in itself is admirable in Zimbabwean context), and played well as a team.
Chatara would not get a 10 for sure, but when was the last time we saw a Zimbabwean bowler bowl almost perfectly and get rewards regularly through a 2 test series? Even Streak did not manage that on many occasions. And to think back to WI and Chatara's debut, you would have thought he would struggle to build stamina to play another test for the country. Yes, lots of context there.
Same with Panyangara. 8 is deserving for Shingi and Vitori. And Chocki did better than those two, and since I was giving a generous 10 to Chatara, saw no harm in elevating Panya to 9.
Mawoyo's was a great knock, no doubt, as I have acknowledged in the write up, but I thought his impact was slightly less than the other 6 pointers - Waller, Chigs and Richie. He also dropped a couple of catches...
Yes, Taylor probably got half a point more, but who cares, he can hand it over to little Mason who was probably the youngest cricket son to witness a Zimbabwe win :D
