Looks like an "interesting" pitch in Mombasa , 70 overs, 20 wickets, 19 wickets for the spinners, figures one would associate with pitches of the uncovered era. But maybe it's just poor batting.
Realistically, we're not much better than Ireland atm (or Afghanistan for that matter). I don't think test cricket will be sustainable or financially viable in Ireland, but we shouldn't adopt the same 'closed shop mentality' to the sides below us on the cricketing ladder that the big sides adopt towards us. As eugene said with regards to Bangladesh, we're basically in the same boat. India, England and Australia will only ever allow us below deck.
