...irrespective of how backward those rules are?...maybe I've been too long away from Zim...

I think we have established there is such a rule and Vusi violated it, and rightly punished. But the point is should

a). there be such a rule, and

b). how should it be applied (needless to say the case of Sean Ervine's not having a contract, and indeed Vusi himself, for whom it was ok to have a pay per play contract was fine, before he went AWOL, but all of a sudden isn't now?...raise interesting interpretation)

its taken one player, one sacrifice and one test...for every player to now know you dont f**k with ZC rules.

The other point is that myself and vusi KNOW that the sydney grade league would be a higher standard than this bangladeshi league. much better standard than the logan cup- and is almost no doubt the strongest non first class league in the world.

but, others wouldnt know...and even if they did...its still park cricket. end of story, rules are rules.

I agree with you two on this one. The application of the rule is jobsworth-ness at its finest, and it will undoubtedly impact negatively on the team for the NZ tour, but I fail to see any hint of a conspiracy or a set up here. Vusi flouted a (in my opinion unnecessary) rule which he was almost certainly aware of, and the administrators decided to apply the letter of the law, rather than give him a pass for the short term benefit of the national team...
