Who have we got that can hit a long ball? With Williams, Vusi, Hami, Taylor in the top 4 in a T20 game, Chigs and Waller should be 5 and 6 and Maybe Shingi 7 - there is no time for anyone else to get a move on. The only other player that can hit out with any hope from the start of an innings is Coventry. For T20s if we are to play 7 batsmen, he has to be at 6 or 7.

Cephas Zhuwao can improvise a bit, just not certain if he has the overall quality as I haven't seen much of him. Still, he can't be any worse than Maruma. I don't mind Vusi and Taylor anchoring the innings, but we need a quick scorer either opening or batting at 3, perhaps Waller could bat at 3 or even Shingi if he worked on his batting a bit.

Zim crickets problem is simple. We refuse to play simple cricket and we also refuse to select players based on merit.
I agree that the board is messed up and we perhaps do not have the money that is needed, but we cant expect the board to do anything. The whole black vs white issue to me seems a bit silly considering that our coach is white. Our captain is white and most of the selectors are white too.
How many times did we try to sweep? We refuse to play simple straightforward cricket shots. Our batsmen are more concerned with keeping their wicket than actually trying to score runs. When they not scoring, they get nervous, when you get nervous, you play shots you shouldnt be playing and then you get out.
Apart from economy, every now and again, what does Utseya bring to the team? Why is our team selection so predictable and boring. Are you telling me that there are only 20 professional cricketers in Zimbabwe?
We lost, for mine, our only world class bowler to the problems that have plagued zim cricket from an administration level. But to think the likes of Grant Flower, A Campbell and A Waller are part of the set up and still nothing is changed.
Its sad when the Ashes winning team is coached by our greatest ever player and the World champs are coached by another Ashes winning coach.
