Depends on his partner though. Right now Mustard seems to have no problems going after the ball, so Tino hangs back back because there's no need for both of them to go guns ho.

True. If any side is in need of some imports to strengthen them, it would be the Rocks... They are the one-day champions, I guess, but they have lost a lot of players to other franchises, and many of their best remaining players are injured.

Mountaineers on a rampage , probably want to finish this one early especially in this heat .Tino playing his usual role of being the support for the aggressor his strike rate has gone up to 50% though .

if you are a tino detractor then you'll probably have to wait till the next game ... he made a half century, and the team couldn't get him out in way but a run out. The SR is still low but considering the article recently posted on cricnfo about PKs SR (and the success they've had since) I'm not overly concerned

As it is the rocks are missing: taibu, panyangara, chibhabha, vermeulen, mupariwa & vitori. With those back, add some of the current players, you get a pretty decent XI, except the tail will still be long:

roy kaia

chibhabha

vermeulen

taibu

mutumbami(wk)

maregwede(c)

kamungozi

panyangara

vitori

mupariwa

muzarabani

A spinner is crucial so one of Kamungozi or Hilary matanga should be in there. Dropping young and impressive Muzarabani for a batsman, perhaps Prince Masvaure could shorten that tail. Then again, the reality is that they don't have enough quality batsmen(no doubt ebrahim&butterworth would've made a difference), so replacing a top young bowler or experienced wicket-taker like Mupariwa for a batsman who most likely won't contribute much could be pointless. So it's best to be bowler heavy, and have the option of bringing in a second spinner for a seamer, should conditions call for such a move. Afterall, with Chibhabha etc, they have plenty of part-time seamers. Rocks fans?

I'm not sure, but I suspect Flower power will soon have an answer to that one.....

My understanding is that he is still a tuskers player but is out with an ankle injury

He really is in the dumps, and you are right, if Ervine was dropped for poor performance, there is only so much that your history can do for you...he needs to find form...fast...I wish him all the best, a form Hami is a must, just like a form Ervine, holding thumbs for both.

Mountaineers feasting on what seems to be some quite ordinary bowling. Anyway, congrats to Maruma for his maiden FC ton, while Pro has brought up adecent half century of his own. Innings like that always fill me with the faint hope that Pro will become a more than handy bat for the national side down the order ..., but then ...

Btw, has anyone (Flower power, Bayhaus??) seen Maruma bowl recently? Any signs of that lost leg-break of his? He seems to have slipped off the radar quite a bit, but he's still only 23, and we all know that leggies tend to blossom late. Meanwhile I hope he can make some more progress with the bat (opens the dreaded can of worms on the non-existance of spinning all-rounders, and takes cover ;) ).

Hamilton's form worries me a lot. With Ervine's problem, we had ready made replacements in Waller and Mutizwa, both of whom grabbed their chances forcing Ervine to find his own form. But with Hami, I don't trust his potential replacements or like the more viable option of changing the batting order to accommodate his absence. He needs to step up, otherwise this time he will stay in the wilderness as there won't be an outcry on ZCF like the world cup situation.
Timycen Maruma seems to be improving with the bat. Just hope he keeps this up although I'd like him to keep on bowling his googlies.

To take nothing away from The Greens, the Rocks are in desperate need of some bowlers. Giving somebody like Prince Masvaure the new ball really goes to show how weak their bowling is. I really hope Vitori recovers quickly. Youngstars like Richmond Mutumbami need some senior heads like Taibu, Vermuelen(?)etc to develop and I don't quite understand why Vermuelen hasn't been playing regularly this season.

Vermeulen has been struggling with a back injury.

I think Foster has laid a solid ground for himself .It will be difficult for him to break into the national team .Maruma is considered more as a bowler and is famous for his googlies .Maruma has not been bowling well these days , the younger Natsai Mushangwe seems to be the strike spinner that Mountaineers have resorted to these days .Maruma is kind of going through a Hammi Phase with his bowling (Hammi phase means loss of form)
