New look zimbabwe side

Everyone in Zim gets out because of poor shot selection more often than not. Taibu, as you note, is a particular culprit but his inclusion is never in doubt, why? Earlier on I admitted Vusi's strike rate and average aren't good enough (yet) for an international top order guy but that's something that can be worked upon. Given a run in the side, are you confident that in 49 more matches his average won't at least equal 29? Like Williams, if the technique and talent are there, experience can only improve things. Before you mention his prior experience, there was no structure to support these guys. Ervine is lucky to break into the side with such support systems we have now.

Let the Vusi Sibanda lovefest continue! :D

Kenya are terrible.

NOTHING that is done out there should be used as a solid platform, everyone was sharing runs.

They are slightly weaker than ur average franchise.

Vusi could get 150 and i still wouldnt call for his perma-inclusion.


I can agree with Doggy here about Kenya. They are pitiful. I would put them as lower than ECB Minor Counties standard, probably not far off decent pub team.

As far as not being happy about beating Kenya is concerned, that's ridiculous! We did what we were expected to do(beat Canada and Kenya) and we did it well. We may have even done better in the other matches had it not been for crippling selection decisions and ridiculous management decisions e.g. Batting first in overcast conditions.

As has been said elsewhere, ignoring those who were not fit. With the exception of Hammy and possibly Matsi there is no one else back home who could have gone and added to the squad. This is pretty much the best one day squad available to us.

We need to face up to that.

Well said zimfanatic (except the bit about Matsi lol). Some people here seem to think we were on course to win the world cup but didn't because of Alistair Campbell's selections and all-round evil agenda. There is not a single player that was left out that would have altered the results of any of our games. We were comprehensively outplayed in all of our losses - the batting failed, the bowling failed, the fielding wasn't as sharp as it could have been.

Yeah, right. Precisely the kind of team that Stewy should play for. Don't know how much fun it would be if Austalians, South Africans and the English spoke this way of Zim

Yeah, well said eugene. Before the World Cup, the expectation by most people was that Zimbabwe would beat Canada and Kenya and finish 5th in the group. We were all optimistic of pulling an upset but realistically it was always going to be hard.

Just by looking at the results, Zimbabwe performed to expectation. Our seamers getting knocked around for 10 an over and the top and middle order collapsing are nothing new so it's not surprising (but no less frustrating) that it happened at the World Cup too.

I honestly would rather see somebody like Charles Coventry feature in the T20 side only....

No good for test matches-that's been concluded..

And there are question marks weather or not he can perform at the level of OD cricket...
I dont think that Razza will play as I have heard that he has loads to learn so it may be too early for him
