Chopped off team...Natsai Mushangwe

Spinner Natsai Mushangwe has been left out of the Zimbabwe A squad that will take on South Africa A and Sri Lanka A in a triangular series next week.

Mushangwe was axed on disciplinary grounds after he failed to turn up for the Pran RFL Tri-series T20 final match between Zimbabwe and South Africa last month.

He had been part of the successful Zimbabwe squad that went on to win the final by nine wickets.

The latest decision on Mushangwe was reached at by the selection committee headed by chief selector Givemore Makoni.

“Everyone else is in the squad is available only for Mushangwe. He will not be part of the squad that will play against South Africa A.

“He failed to report for duty for the Pran RFL match where he had been selected to play in the final.

“He didn’t inform anyone, we were not given any reason. We are not considering him for the Zim A squad,” he said.

Meanwhile, the rest of the 22 players will continue with their preparations for the series which runs from July 13-22 in Harare.

The A side will play practise matches against Mashonaland Eagles developmental XI side prior to the tournament.

Good to see Bradley Staddon in the mix once again.
A certain Glen Querl is missing from the squad. I guess that means the selection guys never had a chat with him so he's staying with the unicorns...
I believe there is more to this than just going AWOL, bayhaus will update us on the conspiracy theories behind.

I also read in the current Sunday Mail issue that Kelvin Kasuza and Tawanda Mupariwa are not part of the Zimbabwe A squad.

He's nowhere near good enough. Doesn't get into a full strength Tuskers side. Isn't a youngster... Very worrying that a player of his limited ability is around the national A-side.

Ahh, well I didn't know he was that bad, I always thought he was a decent talent

I still don't see that the likes of Staddon, Nyumbu and Zhuwawo should be selected, surely there are better young prospects that could be given the experience of squad selection at least

Lamb ?, having seen him in County action in the past i've never been that impressed, he gives experience though and i certainly don't doubt his committment, is he yesterdays man though ?

Last point, who on earth is this Odicious M(h)anje character :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?:

Is he the politburo 'man on the inside' :?

As for Mushangwe, i hope this is just youthful silliness and he hasn't dirtied on his own doorstep, he's got a very good record for a 21 year old and is needed for the future
