The Acting President is Phelekezela Mphoko but his reign will last all of a day. ZANU will presumably nominate Mnangagwa tomorrow as their choice to see-out Mugabe's term and he can then decide whether to keep Mphoko as Vice President or not.

Then you claim to comprehend when you say something so illogical. And no one even bothers to correct you.

You were saying he wasn't going anywhere. Now he has gone. Your turnaround rate on false prophecy is speeding up.

I drove around town last night, absolute mayhem, huge street parties everywhere.

1.Will their tens of thousands of daughters stop being proustites throughout SA and Bots and return home? No?

2. Will their educated brothers, sisters, sons and daughters stop waiting tables and return home to do legitimate work of be entrepreneurs? No!

3. Will they leave the undignifying life of wiping old Australian, British, American, Canadian and New Zealand bums? No!

4. Will they leave the life of crime and return home? No!

5. Will the leave the life of abused security guards? No!

6. Will the soldiers and policemen committing crimes and murders return home to serve with their "heroic" counterparts? No!

Why? Because Mugabe was just an excuse for cowardice!

Somalis, Bangladeshis, Congolese, Indians,Pakistanis, Nigerians, etc don't go to these countries and consciously shed their dignity like that, only Zimbabweans do. They form their own networks and earn revenue. Even their crime is sophisticated. I once evicted a Zimbabwean couple from one of my properties for "trafficking" humans. Smuggling tens of them in every week and placing them in horrific jobs.

Zimbabweans can't form productive networks because they are divided. Due to all Shonas gladly accepting ZANU purging other tribes from benefitting from civil service jobs, business, licenses, politics, land, government contracts, service delivery etc over the years.

Mugabe is gone. Let's see what excuses they have. Like many said it was a clean coup and Zimbabwe plus Zimbabweans are peaceful. So gone are the asylum and special visa requests? Or some other excuses are being cooked up?

First it was "we're just waiting for Mugabe to die or fall". It's happened! Next it will be ZANU, then MDC, then white rule???

You're the one on the ground. Watch things unfold. I think I covered everything.
ZCF Hall of Famer
Before I forget- benefitting from a civil service job?

Surely you mean gainfully employed to serve your country?

This is work in progress, Mnangagwa would be naive to believe he can maintain the status quo, he has to make sweeping changes. Whether he does or not it is still likely that his tenure will be short. I’m not sure the populace will accept another massive vote rigging job. The revolutionary party ticket is losing impetus two generations later. People are beginning to want to see technocrats at the helm.

What you saw this week is far superior to the necklacing, building burning, raping, murdering a******es in your country.

Ndinoverenga zvakanaka. Ndaona iwe.
ZCF Hall of Famer
Why do you think there is xenophobia in your country against us? Zimbabweans are largely honest, hard working, peace loving people and they take your jobs. Get lost, how dare you speak about us like that. Fuxk off.
ZCF Hall of Famer
it's a lot more complicated than that Pariah. In fact there are many tribes that make up Shona people. all this Zanu nonsense was in fact divided along tribal lines amongst Shona people.

This is the problem I have with South Africans. you are still very new at this independence thing. just like we once were watching other African countries suffer at the hands of African dictators in the early 90s. the main difference though is that instead of engaging your "real enemy" who are the white South Africans who control all the money about reforms you chose to attack defenceless blacks from other countries running away from situations your leaders refuse to fix.

Mugabe lost in 2008 but was kept in power by the same military which ousted him AND South Africa. S.A. is sitting on a report that the 2002 election was not free and fair but won't publish it. now you get political and economic refugees and you blame the Zimbabweans for liberating themselves from a tyrant. what a load of nonsense!

Trust me. you can mark this post. Black South Africans will never be forgiven for their xenophobic acts. never ever. the day will come when your leaders betray you. we can all see it coming. that day you will feel the wrath of Africa as a whole. mark my words.

Does anyone here know this Mnangagwa twit well enough to comment on his personality? Or what he tends to change? Have the army ridden the rest of the stooges out as of yet?

Me thinks we can give him three months to see which direction he will take.

There are many unanswered questions about him no doubt and the Ndebele question I anticipate will be remain unanswered for some time to come, but what seems clear enough is his determination to get the economy running in a different direction and not just continue on this sanctions mantra. Apparently China promised some money as way back as 2013 and but they demanded a renewal of leadership hence the constant wait for Bob to retire at some point.

Again the next three months will tell. However we have been bottom so long the only way is up now.

He's lucky in that he gets the almost instant goodwill that comes with Bob's departure, similar to South Africa in 1994.

I think it would be a mistake for ED to go it alone.

I think he should include Biti (replace Morgan)

Nkosana Moyo (replace Dabengwa)

Mai Mujuru

Samkange as Minister of Justice.

It remains to be seen if MDC would agree to an inclusive government. They may be pinning their hopes on the next election. Will ZANU place their faith in the Israeli biometric voting system and try and immediately consolidate or will they go for a GNU and avoid elections and either turn over a new leaf or look to dilute the opposition influence all over again.

Anyway all will be revealed shortly.
ZCF Hall of Famer
What’s this about voting machines, Googly?
ZCF Hall of Famer
His inauguration speech was a bit rambling, but he's a world class orator compared to Mugabe...

I was hoping he'd say something a little more inclusive re: the farming situation, like a call to the diaspora to return and help or something... instead he mentioned land reform was irreversible. But he did mention compensation which I suppose was quite interesting.

The most promising part of it all was when he talked about market enterprise. If nothing else, if he's a capitalist, he'll be an improvement over Mugabe.

I wonder who supports Communism/Socialism over Capitalism here? I’d be interested to know who’s that stupid. It’s obvious Pariah does. I reckon our good friend Kriterion might too, though.

Sociocapitalism ie free market + universal healthcare + a welfare system is already proven to be the most superior system on pretty much every major index.

School Flakeman!!!

I think a lot of people fail to even knit together a few hints. First if all I'm not a politician, but I do come from a family heavily involved in politics. Secondly I'm a businessman actively involved in multiple sectors, but invested in even more sectors. And of course I'm educated like most of you (except that young Aussie)

Even without me sharing anything, just from trying to put two and two together, you can tell I'm no communist. Socialism is very different, and it's been applied in various ways by several countries and quite effectively. Sociocapitalism being one.

I think you forget that whatever legal family or structure a country falls under automatically dictates a lot of their economic policies.

As things stand Zimbabwe (and South Africa and indeed several African countries) can only work via capitalism.

Why on earth do you think Mugabe passed several laws economic not just security related? Without changng the laws your hands are tied as to whatever philosophy you have. Likewise investors want to know precisely what the laws are or else you make certain conducive laws apply just to a particular geographic area other country which is impossible for ZIM considering its size and location of resources.

The good part about this is if Mnangagwa appeased the West and whiteys, then MDC and plenty other opposition have no counter. Only ZAPU and its Federalism will remain as opposition with a genuine discernible alternative.

I posted a 1993 article in the "Other" thread. Those same things are about to repeat themselves again as ZIM receives funding with strings attached. Mugabe is about to turn into what Greenspan aspired to be.
ZCF Hall of Famer
School me? That’s why I said communism/socialism, and no mention of slight mixtures. Sociocapitalism is quite different to the aforementioned but ok? Pariah how do you then support the EFF, if you are pro capitalist? Are you Julius Malema?
ZCF Hall of Famer
Pariah only supports whatever everybody isn't. If we had all started a thread about the wonders of Mugabe and how bad this coup was he would have come in celebrating the end of the old man.
