Mashonaland West cricket have confirmed Titan Diesel Electronics as the official kit sponsors for the ongoing Botswana junior tour of Zimbabwe. The junior tournament received 80 playing shirts valued at US$2 000, enough to cater for the seven provincial and franchise teams Zimbabwe will be fielding during the tour.

Botswana sent their national Under-14, 16 boys and the Under-19 girls for a three-day tour of Zimbabwe in the Midlands Province to play against the Midlands Under-14 and 15 teams; Mashonaland West Under-14 and 15 teams and the Midwest Rhinos’ Under-14, 15 boys and 19 girls.

The Harare-based sponsor, who specialises in haulage truck spares, engine management systems and key programming, was engaged by Mashonaland tournament organisers, after realising the need to make junior teams hosting international teams more presentable.

“This is the first time the company is getting involved in the sport and it is the beginning of more commitments in the future,” said the company’s marketing manager, Vimbai Madzvamuse, at a handover ceremony at Harare Sports Club.

“Cricket provides an opportunity for youngsters to build character, gives them a positive consistency in whatever they do and we identified Kadoma as a starting point for further involvement in the development of the sport.”

Midlands’ Under-16 v Botswana Under-16 - Midlands Under-16 won by four wickets

Midwest Rhinos Under-19 ladies v Botswana Under-19 ladies - match tied 115 runs
