ShareYeah, thought about including Blignaut, but he was a right arm bowler and doesn't qualify as a bowler. As a batsman I don't think he's any better than the seven batsmen on the list so he misses out...

Yeah, but I think Bliggie can still give Sean Ervine a run for his money for the all rounder slot. At least he can topple the 12th man? ;)
By the way, if we are looking at an all time XI, we should consider our first skipper too, Duncan Fletcher.
But a great team that you have complied. Very balanced. But there aren't many names outside of this who spring up. Gavin Rennie is one, but Barney is way ahead in class anyway

Was Barney Rogers all that good ? I never ever saw him bat, but only heard that he won a man of the series award against Bangladesh in 2005. Has an average of 31 in ODI's

Barney Rogers certainly had potential as an opener and played very well in Bangladesh.

Rogers's domestic and international efforts were as good as any of the other players we regularly lock into XIs. Aside from Taylor and maybe Williams.

I always thought Gavin Rennie was a solid performer. Definitely a better option than Dabengwa. You also have the option of Terry Duffin.
Also just had a quick look at Barney Rogers stats. At 31, he could still potentially play for Zim. Not sure if he is still playing the game anymore or anything like that, but definitely has the stats to be an international test starter, particularly ahead of Vusi at the moment.
On a side note, talking of left handers, how good is this hair?

Barney Rodgers is simply too over weight now, and in addition to this he left his franchise in 2009 as he was reportedly fed up. Familiar story isn't it. Apparently Rogers genuinely had a solid technique! There are brief highlights on YouTube which I have just watched, and he seemed to have a lot of time!
