I think if Tibba actually thought this through prayerfully he would not be doing this. I reposted in that thread about Taibu Finds God just put into persepective what started to happen ages ago.
And that "church" which he travelled every sunday to Gweru for, the Eagle Eye Tabernacle, which said he mustnt watch TV was a concern for me then. And if its the same institute that he will be pursuing ministry with, I actually feel sorry for him.
Tibba could have really ministered to the players and used the world stage to do that as well, slipping in a word or two when accepting man of the match, and cricinfo always wants an opinion from Tibba when there is a series. Maybe he was a bit hasty I think and like Zimdoggy says it is not the only reason.
BUT if he was advised by some of our new agey prophets currently doing the rounds in Harare then again I feel very sorry for him, its a chasing of the wind...

Ah, this is a real shame for Zimbabwe cricket. It does seem a bit strange because the best way to promote Christianity would surely be on television, which as a professional sportsman he'd have plenty of opportunities to do.
With Taibu goes a lot of experience, that is the real loss. Our middle order seems really exposed now, especially in Test cricket. I think we can compensate in limited overs because a lot of the guys now have over a hundred caps, but in Test matches not so much.
Regis Chakabva is the only winner out of this. He is a certainty to keep his spot now (deservedly). It possibly opens up a spot for Ervine too.

3. Masakadza
4. Taylor (c)
5. C Ervine
6. Waller
7. Chakabva (wk)
8. Price
9. Vitori (Cremer on subcontinental tracks)
10. Jarvis

Has he ? he scored 3 half centuries in the world cup, was the best batter against Bangladesh in 2010 when we toured Bangladesh, and he's scored decent in first class cricket. If Matskinyeri has been kept for all these years, Ervine deserves to. I dont see any young batters breaking the door down

I appreciate the abilities of Stuart Matsikenyeri. I would not argue that point.
Religion is something I have no time for and no truck with. I am tired of bible bashers inflicting their superstitions and bigotry on the rest of us and that goes for all religion.

There is nothing wrong with being a devotee of something real and tangible as opposed to some figment of someones imagination.
There is no higher power. Religion is a con trick perpetrated on the lumpen proletariat promising them a great afterlife to make up for the serfdom and poverty of their human existence. Fortunately in western europe the cancer of religion is declining and has been since adolph got his pansy ass kicked.

Actually its Eagle Eye Tabernacle not Ministries unless its one in the same. The article said Tibba would travel all the way to Gweru each sunday. Maybe he will head the Harare branch as the Senier Pastor, and with his fame and celeb status he will be the draw card.
