Not bad by the young lads considering that this is a second string side of sorts. Lets hope they will get more wins on the tour.

I have to agree with you maehara, 5 run outs does look a bit worrying on the face of it, but could it be a half full/half empty glass type of thing ? Mazhawidza and Kahiya both had good long innings and were only out to run outs, was that because the Bangla bowlers simply couldn't get them out any other way ?
Mazhawidza, Kahiya, Chirimuta and Scott all had positive starts with the bat while Mushangwe and Mugava put in good tight and effective bowling spells, with Mutumbodzi, Jaure and Chimhamhiwa all having off days it's good to see the others stand up to Bangla.
The ODI's will be a different thing to this game of course, but a pretty good way to start the tour i think.

I think you're right. The scorecard does suggest that we had the measure of Bangladesh as far as our batting was concerned - if it wasn't for the runouts we should probably have won, so I'm not feeling too negative about it.
That said, the rest of the matches will be against a different side, so I don't know how much of an indicator of form we can take this as. Given Bangladesh U19 have just whupped England U19 (1-0 in the Youth Test, 5-2 in Youth ODI), I'm not expecting miracles...

Lost by six wickets :(
But good to see some good performances with the bat from Gary Chirimuta and Dean Mazhawidza scoring half centuries, if i remember correctly they did ok in the Pakistan series.
Simon Mugava took two more wickets to add to his good display in the warm up match. Looks like he will be challanging for a place in the world cup sqaud after missing out on the Pakistan series.

Looks like the main issue is the same as the senior side. No seam bowling to speak of. Expensive and wicketless with the new ball, relying on the spinners.

ShareWell done to the young lads .I am really surprised that they not only competing but they are taking the game to bangladesh.If u consider that the team is missing at least 5 very good players, this is a well done performance from the boys and kevin curren.Dean has caught my eye so far.He looks like a bright talent fot he team.I am looking forward to the world cup this time around.This team is the best prepared team in the history of zim under 19 teams.I hope they will be playing tests also aganist teams like parkistan , bangladesh , SA and others just like what the English are doing. :D :D :D

But another well contested match, the boys are really impressing me on this tour as Bangladesh under 19's are a top top side. Once again its been Dean Mazhawidza who has caught the eye with the bat making 39.

ShareAgreed to zimfan here. Bangladesh U-19 won the series as it was expected, but it was not a convincing series win. 2nd match, where Zimbabwe almost won it!. Rememer, Bangladesh U-19 is as good as any other best team in the world. We have a couple of matches to go. Hope to see some good matches.
However, you guys did not know that Zimbabwe U-19 team were my very neighbour for these last few days. My home is too too close to the stadium, where these first 3 matches were played!!! I have attached the satellite image here, where the red little circle is my home.

We are competing which is good to see as i though before the series that our batsman would be blown away but nice to see young Scott Daley or Daley Scott score some runs at the top of the order, looks to me as though he has secured his place as one of the openers for the world cup.

Sadly everything went to pieces as the lads took a real hammering in the 5th and final ODI
