It's the former that people were complaining about. I think aydee's might have been due to an autocorrect.

"Pakistani" is the genuine way of addressing a person from Pakistan. That's like Indian, Zimbabwean. Nothing wrong there.
Even "Paaki" is some racist slur the British probably used to address muslims in a bad way perhaps. No other parts of the world considers that racist.
EDIT: So, there is an autocorrect in place. So hhm actually wanted to beat the system and wanted it to be the version some people consider derogatory so intentionally misspelled. Interesting.

We had the discussion, and apart from a few people, based on where they stay they expressed discomfort with the word.

Pakistani is the exact equivalent to calling someone a ninja, to be honest.
You never refer to Faisal Hasnain by his name anyway. Normally just the Pakistani, now the Pakistani. Not acceptable.

You guys really are losing it! Heck even the rude young Aussie owned a whole thread about likeable players and proceeded to discuss me instead of players, and the successive comments were no different.

Pakistani isn't a derogatory term here in the UK. P-a-k-I is, which is why I flagged it up a while ago.
German people are called Germans, those from Pakistan are Pakistani, those from Iraq are Iraqi.

I keep getting autocorrected... Which shows that he definitely deliberately misspelt it, in order to make sure that the actual racist slur slipped through the autocorrect net. Pathetic.

But for the record, yes, there is an autocorrect in place for the word in question. It's there for a reason that I do not need to explain (but this covers it), and intentionally working around it by 'misspelling' is grounds for a warning / ban.
