Coventry would probably be a better opening option than Chibhabha who has struggled with scoring at a decent rate his entire career.

The thing with Coventry is that he's too hot and cold.
I can understand if the selectors don't promote him, which probably won't happen. But if it does happen it'll be interesting to see if he goes after it from ball one.
I think Chibhabha should have been sacked instead of hammie..He has been playing for 5 years without anything promising and anything to show for.
Definitely coventry is the best option at the top..He is a match winner and they should go with him no matter what..The day this guy clicks,he will take anything apart..
It would be really nice to see a patient but aggressive coventry who plays selective shots at the top of the order.
It will also release the pressure off brendan taylor who is forced to play risky shots to score quick runs. Taylor playing the holding one ends inning and other people playing around
him is the only way zimbabwe will beat the big teams...

I agree with you mate. I am very happy that Hammie was dropped. He was given enough chances to shine.Next time it should be the likes of Taibu, Creamer , Chiggs etal. It can only be good for the team. :D :D
Dropping Hammie is a message to the rest of the so called senior players telling them that there is no one who is immune from being axed from the squad . We are tired of players playing crap . Guys shuld toughen up as Granty surely said.
Reckon there's a decent chance of us qualifying for the QF's. We should be the associates (Canada and Kenya aren't up to much imo) and possibly another test nation (Pakistan are prone to doing stupid stuff and New Zealand just got whitewashed by Bangladesh). Conditions are probably in our favour. Reckon we'll go OK.
If Tikalo ( kenya) is on form then watch out Zim, This could be his world cup swansong so he will want to Impress, probably the best non test playing batsman in world cricket. I hope Zim Impress though. It looks a strong squad on paper
Hopefully Zimbabwe have got past the point of feeling pressure and fearing the unthinkable defeat when they play associate sides. We are clearly much better than any associate and should go into any associate match full of confidence expecting victory, not fearing defeat.
