It would depend if he can crack the WA starting team full time, which he doesnt seem to be doing, just hanging round the fringes.

There seems to be a good young crop of Zimbabwean seamers emerging, sadly none will play for Zimbabwe ......
I doubt Cartwright would come back now he is in the Warriors setup, we have more chance of bringing back park cricketers like Vickery or Brundle who may be tempted to trade their lives in Australia for a chance to become an International Cricketer .......

I remember when Hilton came on the scene and i followed his progress. There was some high expectations of him in Aus. I think there is a view that he could be a regular with WA and potential to represent Aus. Thing is though, he would probably only represent them at T20 and maybe ODI level.
The question is how serious is was when he said he wanted to represent Zim.
The thing is too, all these Zim guys are dead patriotic. They love to represent Zim, but they get put off by the way the current lot have been treated and the way the game is being managed. If we could tempt Cartwright, Jarvis and the Currans back, we would have a serious squad and some deadly frontline bowlers.
The one person i would be going all out for is Jarvis. Cartwright very close behind. It all comes back to the management. If we can manage the game in the country better, then there would be no need for these lads to go overseas. No need for these guys to not want to represent Zim. It will come back to race though. These guys come back and it will be as if they are pushing the black guys out and someone like Ozias will run to ZANU PF and it will create an issue. As long as race and the game are interlocked, we will never see the deadly Zim squad that we know we could have.

Without knowing any of these guys personally my gut feeling is none are coming back .......
Quality of living and playing cricket is much better in Aus and England compared to Zim so I just don't see why any of them would change their minds ......

ShareUnless Cartwright believes he can crack the Australian side, I can't see why he couldn't play state cricket for WA and represent Zimbabwe when it doesn't clash with his WA commitments. Australia doesn't have kolpak rules.
Speaking of former Zimbabweans in Australia, I'm curious to know Scott Brant's history. I know he played in England before going to Australia, but did he play for Zimbabwe at a junior level or move to England when he was young before taking up cricket?

ShareI'm aware of what has been posted on cricinfo, but there's people on here who may have more details or have seen him play as a junior and knew of his circumstances of leaving Zimbabwe that you don't find so easily online.
