A word for Matsikenyeri i think as Eagles would have been in a big hole without him today, a maiden List A hundred in his 191st innings, it's taken a long long time considering his early potential, maybe the start of a new dawn for him ?

Here is my report from the ground based on what I saw without the help of statistics. For stats you can log onto cricinfo.
Utseya
Utseya was absent from the four dayers cos he had gone on a Honey Moon, he was wedded last weekend at Leopard Rock!
Sound System
Tired beats as usual, but what could have really been of use to the supporters was to announce which batsman was coming in since the scoreboard does not indicate who is at the crease.
Umpiring
Matsikinyire given out, after being run out. He made a brief protest to the umpire then like a gentleman went on his way. But from the boundary it was clear that the keeper dislodged the bails before getting the ball. Square leg umpire gave it out and the keeper (wheres the spirit of the game?) appealed and celebrated. The other umpire spoke to his counterpart and Matsi was recalled after almost reaching the boundary.
Matsi
With the second life talk in the stands was that Matsi would reach his hundred. Was happy for Stewy and his 100 was certainly a joy to watch, he didn't do anything wrong. Some of the supporters were saying maybe he may be considered for the NZ series? I think that one century is not enough to warrant that.
Hamilton
Played with class today and for once a first team player showed his class. He charged at the spinners with some glorious power shots which the fielders could only watch to the boundary.
Ham also ran out Mlambo. Ham came down the wicket and played his shot, took four more steps down the pitch THEN he called yes! And Mlambo was not even close.
Tino
On wednesday Tino was chatting to Curran on the boundary and the guy is not afraid to speak his mind. Tino is a born leader and if he gets his head straight he will lead Zim and I think he will do it well. many of the supporters were disappointed and rightly so that he did not perform in the four dayers and in the Pro50. The expectation was really high and most had come to witness something special. Some were calling to be reimbursed for their time off work since they were paid on commission!
First Time Players
Players I saw live for the first time. We were sitting with Silent Mujaji and his son Brendon and we joked with him that he named him after taylor and that the captain had made such a big impression on him. He was the one who was telling me who most of the guys were cos from the boundary I really couldn't tell and I didn't know most of them.
It was my first time watching Chatara bowl and I now agree that he might not yet be ripe for the picking. Donald Tiripano was cool to watch as well. But one person certainly targeted by Ham – and that seemed to be his instruction to the other batsmen was to attack Mutombodzi. Raza came out with another soft dismissal though he seems to field very well, and has a lot of energy in the field. He certainly can't take Vusi spot in my opinion. Nathan Waller looked un easy today but on Wednesday he dispatched some huge sixes with such easy, reminded me of Tanvier launching those sixes in Mpofus last over. Kasuza the stand in keeper for the Mountaineers wasn't convincing at all. I don't know why Le Croc Garwe didn't bowl today.
Shingi
A chatterbox on the field, bowled well and with some venom, I enjoy watching Shingi bowl his action and the way he attacks the crease. I would like to see him bowl again in Zim colours.
Price
Price bowled with the same passion, though he doesn't seem to sledge which I think is a good thing and mature of him but I really wouldn't mind if he did! But he is still passionate for misfiles against his bowling and you could hear him barking at the fielder and kicking the air. If our guys don't learn something from Priceys attitude then they will never reach their full potential. Price entertained with the bat and his batting has certainly improved. he hit a huge six and even played some reverse sweeps.
Foster
There is something about Foster standing behind the wicket that doesn't look right. he just doesn't LOOK like a keeper!
Mountaineers = Zimbabwe
Their fielding was terrible today a lot of misfields resulting in fours one huge one from Hamilton, basic fielding error which resulted in a four. I counted 7 drop catches. Batting collapse and we knew that once Hamilton was out, that would be the end of the resistance. It was reminiscent of Zimbabwe. Mountaineers is getting a decent support base of Mutare peeps who sincerely feel attached to the team and feel that it is theirs. And they need to win so that fan base can grow. In the end they still had the courtesy to come and salute the small band of faithful mountaineer supporters.

That was a great report . It gives a better view rather than seeing what cric-info thinks , kind of a more rounded perspective .
I have been to these local games but have not thought of giving a proper rounded report card on issues. Maybe the journalistic senses seems to lack in me .
