Vusi Left out of Squad, Matsikenyeri returns

must work ... but let me add: I think Vusi owes an explanation too. at some point we need to hear something from him too. I don't really have too many qualms about whose roof I rattle, as long as I'm happy it's the right roof! The 'roof-rattling' analogy is to show my/our impotence ... but they are trying to turn cricketing profits in Zim - they (everyone involved, including the players) should show some respect to the average viewer by way of an explanation. ZC have issued a statement, Vusi should too!

Sorry you feel that way. Unfortunately, that's my observation! I know there's a lttle voice inside of you that wants to yell in agreement but your tribal allegiance won't allow it. You may deny the existence of the evil, but trust me, there'll be many situations where the validity of this fact will be proven.

What right minded selector would go to an overseas tour with Forster, Regis & Matsi, while leaving Vusi behind. Look all around you in the Logan Cup and you see a bunch of average and pathetic English County players who rock up for a game or two without advance warning and disappear after crapping all over the park with poor showings. Who bothers to audit if all these player signings & registrations are above board, let alone accompanied by a genuine contract! They will do everything possible to woo deserters of the ilk of Ballance & Sean Ervine, who are only too glad to turn their backs on Zim and reject persistent invitations. Yet ZC continue to extend or warm welcome tto hem so they can keep fit, at the expense of locals in the Logan Cup, in prepation for greater challenges(County cricket) and higher legacies(England national team)!

However, when it comes to a player - black indigenous Zimbabwean, who has played every single season of our FC system possible, has successfully led from the front since the WC and throughout our campaigns, lost his mother not too long ago, all of a sudden they rediscover their abilities to be religious in their administration and application of regulations.

This is not isolated to Zim. Similar cases are brought up by countless Pakistanis and Indians, while in Australia it may not exactly be tribal, but certain performing, who unfortunately play for or belong to the 'wrong' states are overlooked!

You may not agree with me Conant, but I bet you his family does, and with justification! I can go so far as to say a lot of his team mates feel far less deserving to be on that plane to NZ than he does, and it will eat a lot of them! They know exactly what's happening!

At the risk of courting your wrath, I feel accusing some one of dumb theories because they don't align with yours is a bit below someone as extraordinarily intelligent as you sir.

I haven't yet decided the extent to which i agree with hhm but it's becasue people snore through this stuff that 'the man' (the mysterious 'man') gets away with it so regularly and easily
I am gutted .Supporters we are not their to worship administrators but for them to administrate on our behalf. Before they made the decision they knew what supporters wanted but they choose to to go against that, then they wonder why the grounds are empty.We want to be entertained as supporters and for that to happen the best team must be fielded .A terrible decision. :?: :?: :o :o :o :x :x :x

I'm so angry that it has cut my interest in the NZ tour by half :x :x I might not even tune in.

Once again my most sincere apologies to anyone who is, or might be offended by this. It's merely a plea to apply reasoning, not an invitation to take sides and make this spiral out of control!

Nonetheless, everything suggests that I'm right. Remember, even while Butcher was aware of the rule he still insisted that Vusi would still be involved, and went to emphasize his point of view after that again. Ask, yourself, how can an old, white, englishman, who happens to be the head coach of the team, consider it unthinkable to even to consider dropping Vusi for whatever technicality, yet Makoni&co put it forward the opposite, with Peter&Ozias possibly rubber stamping it wihtout flinching.

Teams look out for their interests as well as their own people! SA & NZ rugby have at different points been faced with this but ultimately adapted the conditions - SA for F Steyn, Butch etc; just as stubborn&talent drunk NZ would if it came to McCaw&Carter etc. In cricket, SA named Tahir in its squads long before he was eligible - an example of taking care its interests, while Ireland went to extraordinary lengths to get a special dispensation so that Ed Joyce could play for them in the WC, when technically he wasn't yet eligible to play for Ireland when the WC started - an example of taking care of your own people.

Likewise, as far as Buthcer is concerned, everything could and should've been done to ensure that Vusi plays, IN THE XI where he is concerned! So, something could've been gadzirad if they had the will! Unfortunately those key 'other people' didn't think that way, hence they naturally 'lacked' motivation to adapt the conditions because Vusi is neither their 'own' and isn't totally fulfilling their 'interests' - even if would be to the slightest detriment of the team so be it, some of 'our' boys can get a look in! I'm sure Grant & Heath being from both side of the divide, will have explained the dynamics to a bamboozled and speechless Butcher!

But he wouldn't have been required to give up Hampshire would he (except for the International matches)? Right Paul Horton never stays right to the end of the Logan Cup, by March he must be back in the UK preparing for the county season. Even right now Sean is playing for the Tuskers, when his county contract permits. Yeah, I mostly agree with you on those points. I am mad too. But I do think there is a difference between Sean's and Vusi's situations. That is what I was arguing.

Education, Sport, Arts and Culture minister David Coltart was delighted when the national cricket team left for their tour of New Zealand early this week, having personally advocated for the island nation in the south-western Pacific Ocean to renew cricket ties with Zimbabwe in 2009.

However, like everyone within the local cricket circles he was disappointed by the omission of opening batsman Vusi Sibanda from the team that left for New Zealand on Monday.

Responding to comments from disgruntled cricket fans on the social networking site Facebook, Coltart urged sports associations to select players on merit and avoid conflicts with athletes.

I too am sorry Vusi (Sibanda) is not in, but I think it is too strong to say we have been betrayed. I continue to urge all disciplines of sport that we choose the best players possible and that we continually work on keeping relations between players and administrators as healthy as possible, wrote Coltart.

This is after numerous fans had let their feelings known, questioning the Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) committees decision to wield the axe on the in-form player.
