i agree with almost everything here eugene...i get annoyed too. however i am not sure Ervine or Blignaut are quite in the smae category as flower and Streak,,,ervine hhad a purple patch but i have seen him vs Hampshire and although i do wish he had chosen zim i am not convinced he'd be a Flower or Streak...while bligz ran hot or cold (i remember gim fondly but i can pinpoint the memories to 4 or 5 performances...

I think Ervine and Blignaut haven't bee replaced due to the fact that they are allrounders. Ervine would have had a much better career had he stayed with Zimbabwe. His cricket seems to have fallen away alot over the last few seasons. I remember on that tour to Australia Ervine really started to look like he was going to be something special. Blignaut and Chigumbura are somewhat interchangeable I guess.

YES - that tour was an incredible one for Sean... and he would've certainly had a better career in Zim. He has been missed but i am wary to put him in the Strak Flower category becasue his form has fallen away into relative obscurity. he has had some success in the counties, played a superb innings a season ago i think to get ampshire to a final or semi-final (i don't watch him that closely, but i do keep an eye on him)

New Zealand tour will be true test of the character of the Zim team .After that humiliation are they going to bow their heads or put up their chins and come back fighting in the limited over editions ......

The ODIs are very important. We could go to pieces and undo a lot of good work after the humiliation.
