Opening post

I know it's difficult to judge just by watching the scorecard, but after these first few matches I have been quite impressed with Tino's captaincy.

I remember bayhaus championing him as a future Zimbabwe captain, especially for the ODI side .. but first things first, he still has to establish himself as a limited-overs batsman.


Nice to see some depth in the bowling department.


That's the most promising aspect of this series so far. The batting is another matter, especially as we're only playing 3 batsmen today plus the erratic array of Chamu, Chigs and Shingi.

More regular matches against other A sides wont be a bad thing , gives our guys the chance to adjust to Interntional Cricket .

even if it means playing associates , Kenya & Namibia for continuity sake .

what a sorry tale, the overhyped Ervine and the average chibhaba depart early. what can chigs and masakadza do?

I continue to be quitely impressed with Tino Mutombodzi's progress as an, wait for it, all-rounder. OK, he's not much more than a decent No. 8 at present, but there's definitely some batting talent there.

As I write Chigs has finished his repair job for today :( ... do we still consider him as an all-rounder, a tailender who doesn't bowl?

Chigs does what he does best! Saved himself from being axed from the team. If he plays against Sri he will do decent again and they wont be grounds to axe him...

Ervine is overhyped? To be fair he did score a glorious 49 the other day, including a reverse sweep for six.
