Opening post

Play finally under way at Masvingo, the match reduced to 31 overs per side.

Rocks: R Kaia, A Maregwede, KO Maunze, R Mutumbami†, PI Burgoyne, TS Chisoro, T Mupariwa, TN Garwe, T Panyangara*, BV Vitori, C Musoko -- Maunze replacing Slater in an again bowling-heavy line-up.

Tuskers: Chari, Duffin, Williams, CK Coventry†, CR Ervine, KM Dabengwa, B Staddon, RG Querl, N Ncube, CB Mpofu, KO Meth*

After the now customary tight first 8 overs by Panyantori, the Tuskers are crawling along at under 3 per over.

Young Cuthbert Musoko is certainly making an inpression, he has taken the wickets of Taylor, Waller, Duffin and Ervine in his first 6 overs of First Class cricket. Not a bad effort at all.

Edit: and now Charles Coventry.

Nice to see Rocks putting up a fight again

Tuskers finishing with a modest 140-9 from their 31 overs, Meth 36, Williams 33, Querl 23, Musoko 4-24, Panyangara 2-19

Rocks struggling with the bat now though at 31-3, Meth 2-11

Rocks bowling unit has started the season well. The batting is woeful, though.

They say bowlers win matches, but sometimes you need a batsman or two as well.

Another competitive effort from Rocks, but they are still not good enough.
