PS Its a total coincidence that this finally came up after Tino carried the bat twice through out the weekend.

When did this take place - I had no idea Tino was being interviewed, not that I could have come up with anything different from what the guys asked - great questions. Nice work Bayhaus! Whole interview not in one page so I've forgotten some of the things I've read in the other threads already, but I suppose your statement above is meant to avoid comments being littered all over the place. I guess as captain he can't be any worse than Taylor, so he gets my vote. Vusi will have something to say about that though. This takes my prize:

What was your involvement in the issue that led to the Mashonaland Eagles Team Manager leave the country in a huff? Word is that you were interrogated by former ZC Managing Director at his offices? And in the process he admitted to standing up for you to be selected in test squad and after that incident he said he was done standing up for you and influencing the selectors to pick you. How far is this true and also you have links to Bvute since you come from the same area that is Manicaland. - POVO

It is a fact that I went to the same school as Ozias Bvute, and history tells me that many players and administrators have shared schools and even age-group teams before, yet that has never been an issue. So I am not sure that this fact has anything to do with my ability to acquit myself well as a national player, and my ability to represent my country well as a cricket player, as I have previously done and continue to do whenever I am honoured with a national call up.

It may also be a good idea for one to get an understanding of how the technical side of cricket and professional sport differs from the administrative side. With this understanding one will would easily know that team selection in any professional sport is a matter completely carried out by the technical side (Team coach, technical advisors and selectors), and the administrative team largely have nothing to do with that side of things.

Bayhaus, you'd make a great husband for Debora Patta! Were you insinuated that Tino is some 5th brigade - JOC material???? Didn't just vacate the post, left eh country altogether! You deserve a bells, but you should've got a punch for it! I'dhave given you one! 😂

Seeing as you venture into these parts from time to time Tino, when you do find time to read this, want you to know that the part highlighted in bold proves that you should be running for Senate or Parliament instead of considering umpiring duties! Looking at the Asians - SL, India, Pakistan - one would be mistaken for thinking the administrators are the selectors, and the technical team carry the bags and ensuring the is well kitted!

Leave any crits on the interview (style, questions etc) and any suggestions for future interviews in this thread.

Sorry guys maybe there is a misunderstanding here, I meant technical aspects of the interview, like the type of questions etc. Please respond to the relevant topic under that heading. My bad! And copy whatever you need even the full article to quote. Just not a fan of that though.

Since it's one interview, it really should be one thread. Merged.

more to the point ... what is ZCF without making some glaring obvious awful selections in their list .. Ricky P!!?(I thought this list had been compiled 6 years ago ...at least untill i saw the great Tino added). and Anderson AND Steyn AND Vern = no tall hit-the-deck types, wtf is this!? .. apart from shiv and your openers i cannot abide such whimsical selection policies!!!

I must apologise for not reading the intro to that list ... i thought it was a joke and responded in a like manner.Though, Tino is set in a frame from a few years ago if that's really his team.

On the whole though, a great interview; well done! he does seem to have a political tongue at times - as hhm points out - deft!.
