2/8 off 2 overs for Elton to silence his critics. Wickets including Taylor and Malcom the pretender.
Just like Chari yesterday, I'm impressed by Moor. Along with Chari & Musoko, he must be consistently selected as a reward for not skipping away like Lake etc.
Maybe Trenchard should have followed DH to the Rocks. Now that he's a regular, Nkala should be good enough to bat 6 for the Rhinos in domestic cricket! The closest challenger Elton can have for a year or two.
Raza has surely earned consideration for our limited overs side! Afraid that one slot will come down to him, Coventry, Matsi & Chibhabha. Chibhabha has done relatively well and can bowl plus has done ok in WI in the past, Coventry can keep, Matsi's hasn't been dropped and is still 1st XI for the T20 side. Interesting decisions for the selectors to make...I have a funny feeling they'll stick with Matsi!

-Now that Querl has expressed his disinterest for the Zim national team, Ncube & Staddon needn't sit out for anyone at any point. He can go back to England permanently. Places at the top of our cricket should be reserved for those who are focused on building towards an international career for Zim. Mpofu and Ncube - particularly Mpofu who's national team regular - can have the new ball more as well. ZC must play hard and tough with these guys. That's the only way they'll learn not to trample all over dedicated locals.

That's exactly the stuff you'd occasionally expect from an all-rounder in limited overs matches. Malcom Waller had similar if not better returns in some of the matches at the start of the season, yet no-one would rank him alongside the likes of Price, Cremer, Mushangwe, Utseya, Mutombozi. The fact that these days Chigs is not even a frontline bowler for his franchise does not suggest he should be for the national side. And before you start hammering away with your superior intellect, hhm, consider this for a moment: When even your championed national team coach-in-waiting Stephen Magongo does not count on Chigs as a frontline bowler for the Eagles, why should he do so if he were to coach Zimbabwe?

Alex Smith is a former Peterhouse boy who has been playing cricket in Oxfordshire in the UK for the last couple of years after finishing his degree at Southampton University.
I think he orginally signed up for the Rhinos but was not getting any game time and was lured by DH to go and play his cricket in the vegas of Zimbabwe.

Chibhabha has indeed done well in WI, so that supports his cause. But if he is in, he must bat in top 3, and he must not be seen as a bowling option. If we need part timers, look at Hamilton s an option.
This was what Michael Holding had said in commentary during our last tour of WI, when Coventry got a game only towards the end and showed he had a much better understanding of the conditions: "What Zimbabwe needs to look at for future, is their batting order and batting content. Probably the selection team took this too Coventry-centric, and not only picked him for WC, changed the batting order too to put him up on top, messed his confidence up and discarded him. Hope he comes back in a rejuvenated form again in WI.
