Sean Ervine v Alister Campbell

Opening post

He's right about AC being an idiot, but who's the bigger idiot?

He may think he got away from the so called rot in Zim Cricket, but AC had an international career which propelled him onto the spotlight. I've said it before, soon Sean Ervine will be out of a County, and out of sight, but he's only 30. One of the men we love to hate Liam Dawson and other youngsters will have eclipsed him as a senior batsman/bowler/allrounder in no time.

Even his attempts at being a journeyman T20 player are failing due to his poor and inconsistent form. He can't even bowl half as good as our top so called average steamers. These Englishmen have no loyalty, just ask Grant, Heath & Price. They need to get back up to Div 1, so if they have to, they'll ship him off very quickly to acheive that

I wouldn't pay too much attention to him. He was quick to jump on the Taylor-Facebook bandwagon which turned out to be stupid and misguided. He's still upset because AC implied he was a coward in the statement when he pulled out.

All I want is for him to have nothing to do with Zim Cricket or its Franchise cricket.

I like AC, I've always thought his commentary is pretty balanced. For home games he's pretty insightful too, talking about cricketing developments in the country, the domestic scene, etc.

Yea I like AC too. Ervine's just bitter because he was labelled a coward by Campbell.

I do always feel a little sorry for AC. Always commentating on Zim matches, and almost always sounding completely forlorn at yet another hideous performance...

AC is rightly criticising the players and I personally feel he is a balanced commentator. Sean on the contrary must look back as to what he has given to Zimbabwe.
Zim fanatic since 1987

Exactly what I was thinking. Ervine speaks about being disliked, he's one to speak. He walked away and left Zimbabwe, twice! Campbell has Zimbabwe Crickets best interest at heart, and would probably kill for a win (not literally ofcourse, i hope! 😂 ) Sean Ervine has publicly denounced and slagged Zimbabwe Cricket off, both in the media and social media. He has no room to talk, and if anything, he's just as disliked as Campbell may be.

I don't blame him for leaving though, the situation the cricket and the country is in at the moment is simply dire

AC may not be a saint, but he has been a necessary force in rehabilitating cricket in Zimbabwe, both domestically and internationally. When it was just Bvute and Chingoka running things it was terrible.
