He won't be returning to Zimbabwe cricket any time soon. :(

I thought he was selected ages ago, and this is only confirming the Test squad plus one or two changes to the Lions, and the their captain. Is this new?

Given how cricket in Zimbabwe is run I don't blame him. There is probably worse to come with the election on its way.
My All-time Zimbabwe XI
Neil Johnson, Brendan Taylor, Murray Goodwin, Andy Flower (w), David Houghton, Sean Williams, Heath Streak (c), Andy Blignaut, Paul Strang, Eddo Brandes, Blessing Muzarabani

Strictly speaking, I don't think a Lions call-up disqualifies him from Zim selection. But yeah, not going to happen.

In response to the initial thread tital, i say 'oh well :) '. Yea, would be great if he came back and played, but like Ervine, the Ballance ship has long sailed and there's a very very very very high chance we'll never see it again, so it's time to focus on the talent we already have.

I'd love to see Kevin Kazuza opening in ODI cricket at some point, heard a lot about that young man

I think you're right. But as you say, irrelevant. In effect, he left after the 06 u19 world cup. Was never any more likely to play for Zim than Wessels, Compton or any of the other overseas players...

Ballance doing well for the Lions. Results here.

He was their top batsman for the first and second matches, but interestingly, they dropped him for the 2nd match. Conspiracy theories?

Their bowling attack looks like rubbish!

I know this might be a bit too technical for some, but as the three matches are warm ups and Ballance has played in two of them, scoring fifties in both, maybe it's what's called giving everyone a game ?

I'm really very humbly sorry if that doesn't seem like any type of conspiracy theory with deeply racist overtones, but look on the bright side, one might crop up tomorrow
