ZCF Hall of Famer

Opening post

Southern Rocks are to be congratulated on a new venture – this coming weekend they will be leaving Masvingo Sports Club to play their matches against Mountaineers at Triangle Country Club. It is many years since a major match was played at Triangle in the neglected southeast of the country, so this should open up new frontiers for Southern Rocks, who have two Logan Cup victories to their credit this season, but have had a dismal time in the one-day tournaments.

Good to see cricket reaching all parts of Zimbabwe!!

Go Rocks, glad to see cricket getting down to Sugar belt.

I think playing in triangle in terms of temperature will match playing in India cos its HOT!

That's really interesting - it's a great initiative. Supposedly Triangle is a very good venue.

The last time First Class cricket was played in Triangle was in 1979 by Zimbabwe-Rhodesia B against Border!

There's an interesting article here which explains why country clubs like Triangle have been able to keep their facilities in good condition (because of the backing of rich companies essentially).

Maybe an Oct fixture might be better away from the wet season.

Haa we have had that arguement since I was in high school over 10 years ago, where all our matches in first term were rained out.
