With this list, Mountaineers look quite thin contrary to the assumption we have been having. Only thing good about them has been the stability, without too many exits from last year's squad. Tuskers, if you consider all those who might never play for them this season, look woeful. Is the Matabeleland region not producing cricketers any more? We have not seen many names in age group squads coming from this region. Rocks don't look too bad as well.

Byrom and Welsh (hopefully, the Walsh listed there) in Rhinos squad is encouraging too. Would have loved to see Huchu and Wellington Masakadza somewhere there too...

Matabeleland is going through tough times, not just in cricket. Bulawayo has all but economically collapsed as most business owners, many of them white, have given up fighting the government and lack of investment and left.
My All-time Zimbabwe XI
Neil Johnson, Brendan Taylor, Murray Goodwin, Andy Flower (w), David Houghton, Sean Williams, Heath Streak (c), Andy Blignaut, Paul Strang, Eddo Brandes, Blessing Muzarabani

Well, I suppose Mountaineers have some reserves not named here, while Eagles have seemingly listed every cricketer in Harare as a 'member' of their squad.

Hmmm, so I made yet another comeback in ZCF. Great to see Vermeulen & Ewing in the squad. I want them to score big runs & force their way back into test cricket for Zimbabwe. I want to congratulate all ZCF members for making this forum wealthy of news & updates concerned with Zimbabwean cricket. I visit cricinfo time to time but there isn't much of news regarding Zimbabwe.

I doubt Ewing will play much, if at all.
