Why is Malcolm Waller in the team? His dad could probably still get more runs than him. I hear that there is a white quota in place now, surely that explains Waller's continued inclusion.

Zimbabwe team lacks the enthusiasm which I see in the opposite team. I think that is the major reason behind Zimbabwe's poor performance in some of the recent matches. IMO the team should practice on fast pitch because it is where they performance pathetically.

We were completely outplayed by a better team. A 2nd XI SL would have beaten us. Imagine next year when we tour Sri Lanka, it will be a bloodbath. Hopefully Herath is retired by then.

This was pretty close to a 2nd XI SL team as it was. 5 first choice players were missing...Matthews, Chandimal, Chameera, Prasad, Pradeep. If you add Sandskan who just didnt get picked oddly but is a better spinner than the mediocre Perera, it makes 6. On top of that Kusal Mendis was out of form, but thats credit to the Zim bowlers.
NZ played a first string side and just galloped away as soon as the toss was done. This series went to the 5th day only because SL was missing half their team.
Zim need better players, period. Hopefully Streak gets Taylor and Welch/Byrom back soon.

Funny that all of us here hhave beengunning for Mumba for 12 months since midwest wrapped him.
Its only taken ZC 12 months to get on the level that we saw.
Hes been managed well in the sense that he has been phased in through the A structure, but he shouldhave been doing that 6 months ago with the NZ series in view.

Someone said it earlier but we definitely f***ed up bowling first, honestly unless the pitch is green and under water you always bat first. Especially with our limited bowling we could have put on 300-350 and then put some pressure on their batters. They've had it too easy and we haven't made it hard enough for them to score runs ......
So happy to see Mumba killing it, I have a feeling Streak will be bringing in other young quicks like Ngarava, Mashinge and Matigimu. Last time he was in charge he brought in KJ, Vitori and Chatara ( head coach or bowling coach ). Whilst also pretty much putting medium pacers Rainsford and Mupairwa to the side even though they had good bowling figures. Andy Roberts once said "Pick em whilst they're quick cause they won't be quick for ever". When selecting sides I take an opposite view when picking bowlers compared to batsman, with bowlers the less miles they have the better whilst with batsman the more time spent in the middle the better .....

It was Matigimu, closely followed by Mashinge. Ngarava did well in one match against SA, but was ordinary in other matches, and has been ordinary since. I don't think he hit 140 at all. Just the fact that he is a left armer and tall making a lot of people salivate. Mashinge seems to have the best control of the 3, Matigimu has more speed, and Ngarava is a leftie. Ideally, invest on all 3 heavily is the mantra.

Hammy couldn't bat lower order, he doesnt like the soft ball. Watch how he makes a good 70/80 in ODIs, slows down and weakley holes out to a fast bowler into the deep. He does remain our best T20 player though, to those who say he must be discarded like Sibanda. We really need Malcolm Wller to toughen up and play like we all know he can.

Waller tries to be the crisis man, someone who aggressively takes on adversity by the scruff of its neck by being positive etc. Lies somewhere between Whittall and Moor. Just does not seem to have a tight enough game to succeed in that unfortunately.
