Well, it was 42/4. So a bit of rebuilding going on. But Timmy Maruma getting out could very well turn out to be the turning point of the match. By far the most experienced and in form guy in this really thin batting line up.

Is it curtains, now that Regis has gone too?

Jongwe and Mutumbodzi bringing us back into it here, however not much batting to come at apart from maybe Johnny Num

Gallant effort so far by these two, but what do we do with Tino Mutombodzi now, with bowling going southwards (pretty expensive by today's standards too), another Maruma in the making...
ZCF Hall of Famer
Mutumbodzi goes to his first List A half century, 57 needed of the last 12 overs.

Mutumbodzi has to be thought of as a batting allrounder i am afraid, and to be fair we have plenty of spinners so has long as he keeps the abilty of being able to bowl a few overs and improve his batting them he we be a useful one day player.

I am a big fan of Marumas batting, if you look at his stats over the last few seasons he has been towards the top of the averages and averages 30 in FC cricket so the improvement is clear to see, however his issue is whether he can perform against high class bowling.

Yup, that big step up is what we need to guage. But surely, for a lot of this season's Logan Cup glory of Mountaineers, credit must go to Timmy, as well as the steely knock in the Pro50 final. Class performances for a couple of seasons.

I noticed LTGM has two run outs to his credit -- well done the big fella.

Looks like a classical Zimbo rearguard action between Tino and Jongwe.

Another Maruma would be fine for the FC system, but not sure if Mutombodzi will be much use internationally. Nice knock for him here though.
The Third Innings

22 needed of 24 with Jongwe still in
Zimbabwe have absolutely no batting depth

match or feed, I wonder?
The Third Innings
Zimbabwe A moves to 198-6 after 41 overs Kamogozi 14* Jongwe 25* Zimbabwe A need 72 runs to win from 54 balls .

Afghanistan 268/7 (50.0 ov)

Looks like they did not get regular updates after that. Feed issues only, then.

This does not look good too, 268 to win with that batting line up looks too much of an ask. Big scores needed from at least two of Chakabva, Maruma, Mutizwa. Surely Mutumbami would give his best.

We are still a batsman short. Vermeulen should have been eased in. Mutombodzi might be playing as specialist batsman, but still a tough ask.

Oh! that is definitely latest. Where are you following the match?

By the way, bowling wise, things looking difficult for Jongwe and Chinouya to get into the senior squad on these performances. I thought Chinouya would dominate, not to be. Couple of good games for Kamungozi though. Are they playing for the spin and getting foxed? ;)
