Another precise indication of strategic bankruptcy. We already know the damage Vusi regularly causes at the start of the innings in T20s by not getting a move on.

Hamilton, both domestically and internationally on the T20 stage has played this exact role of anchoring followed by accelerating really well and consistantly. And we need just one such guy at the top, and one in the middle order for consolidation, which would be Williams. These are definitely the most effective we have for this role, because they can shift gears as the game demands. Taylor, Chigumbura and Waller can play their natural aggressive game from ball one with these two at the other end.

Add Vusi and Tino to the mix (who can't even shift gears), we are in deep trouble. And I know the importance of Tino to our test side, but T20s in his current form, no.

We already have about 5 anchors in our batting lineup, why add another? Zimbabwe is diabolically bad at T20, we can never score at more than a run a ball it seems. Regardless of the opposition, pitch conditions, context, we always score about 110/6, which is either 40 runs short of our opponents, or is knocked off in 15 overs.

It's because we are behind the times in t20 cricket ye same guys you have to pick guys more suited to the format you cant pick the same guys for all formats .....

Although we dont have much player depth we still have options .....

Besides Zhuwawo and Muzhange we don't really have anyone you'd call a T20 specialist (and isn't already in our Test and ODI sides), and even those guys have question marks over them at international level - more so Zhuwawo to be honest, memories of Canada 2008 come to mind but to be fair that was 6 years ago.

Coventry's not available, and there's no ten Doeschate-esque T20 mercenaries we can count on every time an ICC tournament rolls around.

Really, our Test and ODI sides won't look too different to our best T20 side.

If we were going to try something experimental, we'd probably be better off picking our hardest hitter from the U19's. Someone unproven at international level but known to smoke it a mile... we could uncover a gem.

Raza is a perfect t20 player but was overlooked for the PK series .....

Also Muzanghe has never been given a go ....

I must admit I'm a bit biased to the Rock Zhuwao in hope he can fulfill his tag as the Zimbabwean Chris Gayle but after his club season in England surely he is worth a shot .....

Chibhaba has also got a good t20 record much better then Vusi's but we always go with Vusi. I'd rather see Chamu or Raza open before Vusi but I bet Vusi will open ....

But it is true we don't have many options .....

You can get carried away picking T20 specialists though. I remember for the first World T20 England chose all specialists from their domestic T20 competition and they got hammered, simply because everyone else chose their strongest players. In the end the best test players are also the best ODI players who are also the best T20 players. Our best players just don't possess a counter-attacking psyche. Williams, Taylor, Masakadza, Sibanda (not opening) can all accumulate at a good pace. Waller and Chigumbura are our only proven attacking batsmen it seems. Sadly Craig Ervine was someone who could score at a quick rate once he got going but he is no longer with us.
