What can you possibly say about this ?, ZC board members have probably realised how little they will be able to steal if they accept the bail-out, trouble is idiots, Zim cricket will fold up and die and then you won't have anything to steal at all

Utterly pathetic, but I guess you have to respect any group of thugs and thieves who base themselves so closely on their political masters

If I were the ICC:

- I'd point out that the current ZC administration were solely responsible for the financial hole that the organisation finds itself in;

- Make clear that there'll be no additional support / loans from ICC;

- Suspend other payments to ZC (i.e. Full Member funding) until acceptable measures to address mismanagement are in place; and

- Wait for ZC to implode when its debts are eventually called in.

They can then appoint their administrator as an 'interim measure' to replace ZC and get things back on their feet.

None of which will happen, of course.

Does anyone know how much is owed to whom? Clearly a chunk is supposedly owed to Metbank at a usurious rate, this in itself would be worthy of investigation, there are grave doubts over the amount and rate.

The ZC board is up for re-election shortly. Can anyone shed light onto whom is now eligible to vote?

In the fictitious event of a curator taking over you would see a paper shredder working overtime before they took office.

The Players Union and the ICC can really do something about this now. I sincerely hope that they recognize that the time is now to turn the screws. To turn down this bail-out offer is in nobody's interests except for a small handful of people that would, in the real World, be about to serve prison time.

I am surprised ZC gets a say. Can't the ICC just move in and say "our money, our governance"?

Sadly, the boards run the ICC, not the other way around.

The ICC should not give ZC anymore money. The best option is to starve ZC into submission.

If the ICC does play hardball - which it should - the ZC will collapse. Any idea how long that will take? But that of course means the players can't be paid at all (there really is no money because its in the ZC's personal bank accounts) and the players will go on strike indefinitely. That means guys like Williams and Taylor may end up walking. Disastrous situation.

Now if the ICC can swoop in immediately once the ZC folds, most likely Taylor and Williams (and any other current players that leave) can be convinced to come back. But the real success would be if an ICC "takeover" can convince the likes of Jarvis, Cremer, Meth, and Craig Ervine to come back as well.

Here's to hoping that ZIM cricket can emerge stronger if and when all this is finally through.

PC and his mates always seem to wriggle their way out of every tight situation they find them selves in and game always suffers that little bit more I cant see this situation ending any differently ....

The one point I thought might be interesting is now that India are getting the larger sum of the cash and pretty much run the game how will they feel about ZC wasting the money which India apparently works so hard to produce / generate for the game ......

Presumably if the ICC cut of all money, the Zim govt would step in and supply their friends at ZC with some cash.
