The problem with todays team was none of the seamers are suited to using the new ball ….
Panyangara and Vitori with the new ball and Chatara bowling 1st change i feel would have done a lot better ….
With KJ gone we don't really have anyone who bowls with aggression and who will get in the batsman's face …..

Was that a top quality partnership or what? I was glued to it. Top effort from Hammy and Williams. The way they built up the whole thing, soaking up the pressure and then hitting out once they got their eye in. Williams was phenomenal right from the word go, Hammy was prepared to do the hard work. Even if one of them had carried on, with support from Chigs, we were looking good to mount a challenge, but not to be. Both getting out at the wrong time to soft dismissals.
But I've got my time's worth, watching my two favorite guys bat together with controlled aggression, and at least saving us from a humiliating defeat which was looking very likely. Surely Hammy, Taylor and Willams all have been in the best forms of their lives in the last year and a half.
We can still get close in this one though...

Chigumbura is looking very out of form, if he is not going to bowl i just dont understand what he brings to the side, as i think he is a place to high at number 6 and to give him the captaincy is just madness.

ShareHopefully Raza, Pany and Vitori will be back for the next game. The bowling attack lacked any teeth and the top order was soft again. Mutumbami isn't an opener of mine and Sibanda is still struggling. I'm convinced Williams has overtaken Utseya as a better spin option.
