The long e in me doesn't exist in Shona.
Sometimes people pronounce the short e as 'ay' as in Zimbabway. But to my ear the e sound in Shona is somewhere between the 'ay' and the English short e as in effort.
Not sure how Luke pronounces it, but it would be closer to the ay than the ee.

Thanks, I can understand that sound, the shorter sound form of "ay" is also present in my language.
