In move aimed at re-inventing the local game, Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) is set to appoint a technical person within the administration to run the daily affairs of the game.

Former Zimbabwe captain Alistair Campbell has already emerged as a front-runner to be appointed chief executive officer of the organisation.
Zimbabwean cricket is undergoing major changes which have already seen Wilson Manase assuming the post of board chairman, looking forward to injecting energy in an organisation that has suffered under constrained economic conditions and the lake of money spinning tours.
Sources have indicated the Manase-led board has identified areas that needed change and want a technical mind in administrative structures as a matter of priority.
While discussions with Campbell are still at an embryonic stage, sources have suggested both parties seemed keen on engagement.
If ZC fails to entice Campbell, they will consider other former players to take up the post.
Wilfred Mukondiwa is the current ZC managing director running daily activities of the organisation.
Manase has approached other former administrators to take up some key positions, with Mohammed “Babu” Meman having been appointed to the selection committee.
Campbell held several key positions within ZC in the last few years, which include convenor of selectors and Cricket Committee chairman.
Manase declined to shed light on the issue but confirmed they would continue to make changes in key areas.
