Well, Vusi will get a go, and yes, confidence-wise a selection that keeps our hopes up anyway. Good job by Ervine, but Waller and Wellington are the ones who blew their chances big time.

Most disturbing for me are those 20s and 30s from Hammy and Taylor. They should have dominated here.

Tough call between Mushangwe and Kamungozi. While Mushangwe's were top order wickets, Kamungozi got one at the top and two at the fag end. But Kamungozi was tight throughout as Mushangwe went for runs. Jury's out on this one.

Hammy and BT are not a worry for me, they know how to ramp things up for the tests, Ervine and Raza getting runs are a major boost particulary as Ervine tends to go through large fluctuations in form.

i think its a case of going for experience in the first test which is why i would go with Sibanda and Raza at the top of the order and play Kamungozi and Nyumbu. The likes of Chari and Wellington will get there opportunity at some point in the series.

Therfore my XI would be

1. Raza

2. Sibanda

3. Masakadza

4. BT

5. Ervine

6. Chigumbura

7. Mutumbambi

8. Panyangura

9. Nyumbu

10. Kamungozi

11. Chatara

Yeah, that team for me too, although I'm slightly in favor of Mushangwe over Kamungozi, but can't complain if the selection goes the other way. Nyumbu has a HUGE role to play. Hope he can handle the pressure so early in his career. Wishful thinking, can we have Chatara batting at 9 :)

I would arguee that Nyumbu is a better batsman than Chatara but it wont really make much difference. Im getting excited for Saturday now, i should be able to watch every ball of the first test but then no more for the rest of the tour.

Should never of become an Economics teacher, working right through the matches :D

Mushangwe all the way dude! He got the 3 guys with test caps. Who cares about his econ rate...not like he was going at 5 an over...in tests you need wickets and strike rate takes a premium.

I still feel we need 3 spinners and playing two front line seamers is a mistake ......

Our tail looks very long .....
