I reset the votes as a few people voted for the 2013 Test vs Bangladesh in the absence of the 2011 Test being an option.
I have now added the 2011 Test, and cleared the existing votes so it's a clean slate.
I remember one of the South Africans reflected on their last Test before isolation, it might have been Barry Richards.. that if he had known that it would be the last time he'd play, they'd have never got him out. I reckon there might be a bit of that in Taylor going into this weekends match, except he knows this is it. So I've included a 4th option in this list which you can pick as well as one of the first three if you wish.
The options are:
- the last ball six match
- T20I win over Australia
- Comeback Test in 2011
- Twin centuries vs Bangladesh in 2013
- still to come???

Has to be that century on our test return, stood up as out captain in that second innings. Dont forget his bold decleration as well at tea time on day 4.
I expected to be upset but i happy for him, its time other players stepped up with the bat and perhaps without BT it will encourage them to take more responsibility.

Agree about the captaincy and the declaration part of the BD game, but in terms of quality of the knocks and the quality of the opposition bowling, weren't the knocks against the touring NZ team in 2011 at the Bulawayo test better? a 4th innings 100 that gave us a chance of an unlikely win...

I've added the 2011 Test to the list now (the one that was there was the 2013 Test where he scored twin hundreds) - I didn't originally because it was more of a team effort rather than Taylor dragging the team over the line, but on reflection he was man of the match in the 2011 game and was the leading run scorer overall so there's no reason why it shouldn't be considered a match winning performance.
I've reset the votes due to this because I think a few votes went to the 2013 match mistakenly.

I'm creating another poll to vote for his best century overall (win or lose) - this thread is just about his match winning performances though.

I've gone for the T20 win over Australia because that's where and when my interest in Zimbabwean cricket began :)

Yeah, epic match that one. I was really tossing up between that match and the last ball six match (ended up going for the latter - just can't go past how much pressure was on that single delivery).
And I loved the Comeback Test - a real captains knock that one. But I do think of that match more as a team effort. Masakadza stood up when it counted in the first innings, Jarvis and Vitori were excellent. Even Vusi got in on the act. Taylor was the glue that held it all together though, such a fine performance in the second innings to set up the 375 target and then the declaration.
There is one good thing about supporting Zimbabwe that no other teams fans (bar maybe BD) will understand - the wins count for more. And that makes the individual performances all the more special. When Australia wins a tight match and some bloke scores a hundred, it's forgotten about within a few days because it's just lost in the sea of endless limited overs games. But when it happens to Zimbabwe, because it happens so infrequently, it goes down in cricket folklore and it's very memorable. And so it should be, great sporting achievements deserve to be remembered and celebrated.
