Not really. I was already a journalist at the Sunday News before I was forced to leave the country for economic reasons like many others. So certainly I was "budding" to use your term but have left the profession altogether now, only writing when the urge strikes me, which is like once in two years.

But you damn right its infuriating. I used to follow Robson Sharuko's articles when I was in high school before I graduated into what I thought were better writers later, mainly South African. Robert Houwing of SA Sports Illustrated if you remember him, Tom Eaton in the Mail and Guardian.

Sharuko is not even the chief cricket correspondent for Herald, the man evidently pulled rank over Eddie Chikami to go to Australia.

By the way as the urge seems to have stricken this week, maybe I will post something for Taylor in the next few days.
