Opening post

Zimbabwe v Afghanistan, 3rd ODI

Queen's Sports Club, Bulawayo, 20 October 2015

1-1 with three to play. Here's a scary though: if Afghanistan win the remaining matches (for a 4-1 series win), they'll be above both us and Ireland in the ODI rankings (and we'd be 12th, back below Ireland). I wonder how much motivation that prospect is - for both sides.

Hopefully enough motivation to play a strong lineup, Chisoro batting @7 way too high ......

Chamu

Richmond

Ervine

Tino

Williams

Raza

Chigs

Jongwe

Chisoro

Wellington

Tinashe

I'm happy to leave Tino @4 to give him some more exposure even though he has a List A average of 18 I feel he could be a good investment ......

I almost agree, my preferred change to yours though, would be to bring in Prince Masvaure at number 4

Just going off the current squad, Prince is an interesting choice former under 19's captain never really kicked on but seemed to be more consistent last season .....

Moor 22 off 14 right now in the Ireland match. Maybe he's making a play for the ODI team.

And 20 of those from boundaries. I'd say that's a 'yes'. (Or the upcoming T20I's, even...)

Williams will be a welcome return to the side. its a bit tricky but we just need to win the remaining games otherwise it will get very embarrassing for us.

It seems Moor has instructions to go after the bowling but with the lose of Masakadza(not looking good for him at all) will his approach change.

Have we found out why Williams has not been playing in the last couple of games?

If he is to come in, I would bring him in for Nyumbu.

Injury. Looking like a possibility for this game, however...

If PJ Moor is selected he must open. Not because he is white, but because I think he is best suited as an opener.

So, type 12 it was :). Actually this new type describes a lot of the recent knocks played for the national team by Maruma and Waller (and Chari too, but he is just starting his international career). Chibhabha did a lot of this earlier too.

Got the numbers wrong, should read 21.

Not fantastically pleased with the run rate of this partnership, but as long as they keep going...

I've been rather hoping that Mr Chigumbura would revert to his old self and show Afghanistan what a type 69 innings feels like

;)

63 off 66 .....

wouldn't mind a couple of 9 run overs here to ease the rate ahead of time
