I definitely think that Coventry and Mire could have played a part.especially in limited overs cricket. I suspect the problem is that they have settled nicely in South Africa and Australia that coming back home to fight for a place in this ZIM team just isn't worth the risk for them. this is not a country where u can easily earn a decent living so I'm guessing they prioritized their families.

Solomon Mire for me made a mistake. I definitely think he would have been a regular member if the likes of Jongwe and Madziva have already broken through because I believe he is a better player than them. Coventry on the other hand could not just expect to fly in every time he felt like it and go back to his job when the tour was done. Unfortunately for him the Zim batting lineup is a lot more competitive than it was 6 years ago and he didn't really impress in the few games he played last year.

Coventry is done and dusted recently got a shot,looked out of sorts
Mire can still play but don't know what his current situation
Meth is probably making babies in Canada

They have been screwed by zimbabwe and owed 10's of thousands of dollars which some office workers stole. Why would they stay and be raped again and again.

Mire hardly played for the National Side. I wonder how much his owed. Why you so bitter?

1 thing I think a lot of people don't understand is that everybody is owed money in Zim. There is no exception. its more to do with the economy itself than ZC alone. its still a business and there are very few businesses thriving. Corruption definitely plays a part too but if u have been to Zim in the last year or so or currently live there then you would know.

Coventry came back because he was promised his money owed previously which he got- the fact they never paid him for Pakistan in full......
Meth is owed money and was offered peanuts at the start of the new season so went elsewhere....whose loss??? ZImbabwes, because we will be like Kenya by 2020.

The truth about Zimbabwe cricket is it was built on the pride of what the government says are now "Aliens" what europe would call "expats" what the whites would call themselves Zimbabwean,, with pride,.. until the government disowned them.
The indigenous/black population was not interested in cricket then and for the majority are still not interested in cricket, they love football first. The participation in the sport is because of the money to be made, not necessaryily to win or even compete.

We know the economy and the country are stuffed and so to most businesses because of the political decisions made in the millenium which were racist, in government and in ZC. But effectively what has changed in ZC, money comes in from ICC and TV rights, always has (probably won't always will after todays loss!)
So how can all of a sudden ZC not pay people because of the zim economy, ZC doesn't make money or rely on the Zim economy to get money. 😂 :roll:
