The state will use it's strong arm and the ZBC-TV news anchor will recite something like this:

...The trio is being charged with banditry, terrorism, insurgency, treason, attempting to defeat the course of justice, conspiring to remove a democratically elected government and putting the name of cricket into disrepute...

The guys in Zim are all too familiar with the above "catch phrases"

SR Butt avoided questions to do with cricket politics last night during a QnA with fans on Facebook. However, he said most of the players are aware of the praise and abuse directed at them. It got me wondering if they really take to heart the negative energy?

You can read the answers here https://www.facebook.com/groups/zimcric ... 296416699/.

Our man Bayhaus was grilling him 😂

Any chance of copying & pasting the Q&A in this thread? Mr. Zuckerberg doesn't allow me to view it without selling my identity and soul to him. Thanks in advance. :)

Didn't answer them all that good though, I can understand what Bayhaus was getting angry for, talk about avoiding the questions

Not a problem.
I edited it a bit to make the Q and A more readable. Punctuation, short hand and capitalising the 't' in Test cricket 😂

JM Ladies and gentlemen it's my pleasure to announce that tonight for just only one hour we will have Sikandar Raza answering any questions you might have about cricket. Please be reminded he is going to entertain only questions to do with the playing side of things. No political or administration questions.

SR Am here everyone. Josep Madyembwa thanks for the invite

Jeanette Baker I have a question, Sikandar - one which my husband (a retired Cricketer) and myself (watched 3 generations of Cricketers playing!) have often debated. Do you think that the Duckworth Lewis needs updating to suit modern cricket?

SR Not sure if it suits it or not but certainly helps to get the result of the game... So from the result point of you it does suit the modern game.

Bravery B Matanga Sikandar Raza what do you think is your best batting position for all formats? The one you would put yourself in if you were captain.

SR I personally don't get caught up too much regarding the batting position. Whatever job is required of me at whatever position I enjoy it.

Michael Chideya Raza what’s your fav shot?

SR Any shot that doesn't get me out.

Bayhaus Sikandar Raza first off thanks a lot for availing yourself to the fans much appreciated. My question is would you like to Captain the team? If it’s too adminish/ political you can ignore it. Buts it’s an issue a lot of fans have discussions about.

Josep Madyembwa (for SR) Bayhaus sorry boss....

Denzel Ras D Sikanda Raza my first question is what inspired you to play for Zim?

SR The game itself inspired me to play and I was blessed to be among the right setup and people who trusted my abilities to represent Zimbabwe.

Eugene Lavery Is Craig Ervine aware of his cult following among some fans?

SR Most of us are aware of the support and abuse we receive....

Eugene Lavery Most of us support you guys, win or lose! Go Zim!

Tinashe Mawoko What’s your favourite cricket venue and your worst?

SR Harare sports club is my favorite. Don't have any worst mate.

Aaron Gudo Raza do u think we deserve to be a Test playing nation as of now?

SR I certainly do. I genuinely believe we not far off from a series win home and away. Just few weeks left.

Ronald Rwatiringa What’s your favorite format of the game mate?

SR I just love playing cricket and that’s all that matters to me not any particular format mate.

Aaron Gudo Who do u think should be our Test captain and why?

Josep Madyembwa (for SR) Aaron sorry no questions about captaincy.....

Tinashe Chichera Which is your favourite fielding position and why?

SR Early in the game covers and in the end boundary riding at long off and long on.

Lloyd Matimbeh Thanks for being here @sikander raza. In Test matches would you prefer to open the batting or go down the order? Still on the same issue what is your favorite batting position?

SR Depends on the combination of the team, mate. Ideally now I prefer middle order of ODI and Test cricket.

Bayhaus Do you think of the role Never Lundu plays in mending bats and do you think he is appreciated for his services?

SR I certainly thinks it’s well appreciated by all the players. We love his work.

Thomas Dangarembizi Sikandar Raza what happened to the pace bowling?

SR Old age happened to pace bowling, Dangarembizi.

Victor Mapuranga Who is your all-time favourite cricketer and why?

SR I watch cricket for cricket and cricket only so no one in particular.

Bayhaus Aaaaaaaah nooooooo thats too politically correct!!!

Bayhaus Age old debate, Tendulkar or Lara?

SR Both, to be brutally honest.

Bayhaus How about this - The fans have donated a two seater Porsche and SRT & BCL are at a bus stop and you can only give a lift to one?

SR I would give none of those two the lift then.

Lawrence Tinashe Charandura Who is your favourite player in Zim and in the world?

SR Chamu and Craig.

Isam Maponga Raza what nickname did the lads give you?

SR RAZ and SRB.

Victor Mapuranga What's the meaning of SRB?

SR Real meaning is Sikandar Raza Butt. But in Zim terms it means Strong Rural Background.

Bayhaus Which bowler has really tested you and made you add an extra hour to the net session?

SR Everyone in the nets make me dance, mate.

Bayhaus I guess we will have to wait for you to retire for some of the answers!

SR Would you rather have the answer now or my early retirement for your answer?

Bayhaus We can wait! But by then we will want a book! Would you consider writing a book when you retire?

Bayhaus What is the best sledge you ever had directed at you and by who?

SR [probably missed this one]

Vusumuzi Dabengwa Any superstitions before the game?

SR None, mate.

Tatendaishe T-sha Shayamunda Do you go for Sadza? Coz man, your hands grip that bat on the pitch to the fullest energy. Your boundaries are serious energetic ones #Curious SRBFan

SR Lol... I love sadza as a matter of fact. May be that's the reason for hitting boundaries!

.

.

.

SR Thank you everyone for your time. All I need in return is for prayers for the team. Thanks a lot! Will definitely do it again sometime soon.

Don't forget the obligatory mention of the "racist Rhodesian regime".

Th Q&A with Raza was very disappointing. He basically didn't answer anything. Why would he refuse to even pick between Lara and Tendulkar?

Yeah, reading this makes me wonder... probably being involved with ZC brings paranoid along too. Why would he not pick one of the two and why can't he pick one bowler who has troubled him the most? I can understand not talking about captaincy, but this is meaningless...

Yeah not really that interesting tbh...

Isn't the guy who organised this 'jonty' from here?
