Disagree, Ngarava has bowled poorly too in this tournament, despite the wickets today. All our seamers have been terrible.
I don't even remember who our bowling coach is now but we miss Kirby. Ngarava improved hugely under him.

Congratulations to Zimbabwe on breaking the world record for highest ever T20I score!! For once Zimbabwe are on the right side of a world record.
Congratulations to Sikki on becoming the first ever T20I centurion from Zimbabwe and on scoring the second fastest T20 Hundred of all time.
I was not kidding when I said Zimbabwe can break some world records at the start of this tourney!
It's all against a minnow but records are records.

Loser records for loser associate bashers. It’s just completely embarrassing. Where’s the feel good factor in walloping the 93rd ranked associate when we can’t beat better associates like Scotland and Uganda when it matters. 😂
The bowling today was absolute dross; blessing giving away more extras in his four over spell than Gambia did in 20 overs when they were being whacked to all parts. Commentator even said we’d took the foot off the gas at some point when raza was letting them tick along bowling spin. I ain’t dazzled by some s**t records. 😂

This is a plausible argument as to why not every team should get official T20I status. It renders T20I stats meaningless. But then again, I've never been a fan of the format, so why should I care? At least its not Tests and ODIs.
Although its a stretch to have 20 ODI teams...I actually like that even number for ODIs.

Blessing and Richie are a handful when they bowl a good delivery, or God forbid a few in a row, but they are woefully inaccurate for modern day quicks.
Actually they're not that quick either. An Evans type bowler who bowls accurately and has a good slower ball is much more of an asset in T20 in particular.
It's tempting to try too hard against these batters.
Gwandu has also squandered a golden opportunity to make a mark.
The fact is that good performances against this calibre of opposition shouldn't count for too much, but in our case they will.
By the same token mediocre performances should be a black mark, but in light of the overall results they'll be overlooked.
The world record unfortunately will highlight to the cricketing world the fact that we're playing in the Z pool, but it was good to watch nonetheless.
The only possible upside may be that some of the batters would have gained some confidence and be more likely to pounce on a hittable delivery.
If the gold medal at the Africa Games was like winning the World Cup then after the world record the bosses will be 5 bottles of Green Label in by now.

Nonsense. Why do some cricket fans think this? This train of thought doesn't exist in literally any other international sport.
There isn't a single football fan out there who ever thinks X amount of say Ronaldo's international goals don't count because X amount were against San Marino or Liechtenstein.
Cricket fans are the outliers.
Global T20 status has been great for the game, there has been significant growth in particular in Africa and Europe as a direct result of it.

More to the point, the soccer analogy is terrible because soccer is a non-statistical sport. A completed game only has 2-3 goals scored, there's a reason why soccer doesn't have or need stats...there are none. A dude jerking off to porn offers more statistical data than an entire FIFA world cup.
Very few sports are as stats-rich as cricket...and therefore there needs to be some minimum standards by which to judge. Otherwise one would be under the illusion that the difference between Bradman and Madhevere was just 100 years.

Just to emphasize...I just went to FIFA's website for maybe the third time in my life. They've got rankings, but there isn't even a "statistics" tab on their homepage...thats how quantitatively boring a sport that foot fetish thing is 😂
They've got a motherfucking "legal" tab at FIFA...but not a stats one. Thats how NOT interested a human could be in even trying to quantify that game, lmao.
Meanwhile...the statsguru feature on cricinfo is pure gold.

I agree that football is largely s**t.
But if you watch premier league football on TV recently you will see stats are a much bigger thing these days. They bang on about various stats before, during and after the match. Sometimes for hours after the match.
I’m a cricket fan too and so I’m as guilty as anyone with the ‘oh yes but so many do his centuries were against minnows’ etc. but in truth literally no other sport does this. Every other sport lets teams play on a level playing field except cricket.
I’ve said earlier in the week I’m not at all that bothered about us playing these countries and in my opinion every single country other than the World Cup host should have to do the same.
Over 100 countries play cricket and want to play cricket and I hate that 10 countries decide whether the other 90 are allowed to play in certain tournaments or have certain ‘status’ all because they were colonies 50+ years ago and some Brits set up some cricket clubs there.

Btw, mad respect to the Gambian players in my opinion. Had to forfeit their first two matches because they didn’t have visas in time (presumably no support from their non existent board), they don’t even have proper kit - pretty sure they are soccer shirts they are playing in. The commentator remarked that many of the players were playing in trainers without cricket spikes today. They didn’t even have a physio. ‘Coach’ doubling up as their team manager and doing everything. Not getting paid a cent for any of this.
Got absolutely slaughtered, but kept their heads and tried their best until the final ball, kept their heads up and played fairly.
Presumably for no other reason other than the fact they enjoy the game and the chance to represent their country is an honour.
But some Bangladeshi man in America reckons they shouldn’t be able to.

Yes I can only imagine how much it meant to them to play against somebody like Raza. We take our funding for granted.
Marumani will probably enter out top 10 T20i run scorers in the next month. Puts a lot into perspective. I can only hope that this gives him some confidence. He is slowly creeping up to an average of 20 😂 he can take heart that Raza doubled his average from 13 to 26 in a space of 2 years.
Bennett and Myers are slowly moving up the ranks as well. Real statpadding here. Bennett has an insane strike rate of 154. The 12th highest for full member nations. I can give him his credit because he did smoke some sixes against India too

Football belongs to everyone, it’s universal.
Cricket is old fashioned and quintessentially British. BCCI/ICC are the frontmen of the operation, however, all the strings are still pulled at Lords by the MCC.
You can’t be some young upstart flapping jaws about King Charles then expect automatic qualification to a 24 team ICC World Cup. It doesn’t work like that 😂 😂 we haven’t played England for 20 years because uncle Bob was getting too big for his boots. You wouldn’t get that level of pettiness in any other sport.
