would also like to know more about Nyauchi. his average pace, any swing, consistency etc..he has been returning some solid figures. Mumbai's first class stats point at a future star even though he has only played 14 games..should keep working on bowling faster.

Some of the early wickets by zim were said to be good balls that hurried and bounced on the batsmen. Something chinouya and tiripano failed to do in the tests

These names, HUK Madushanka and DSK Madushanka from the SL Emerging team are reminding me of our Masakadza brothers :)

and 4 so far for Mumba. Putting his hand up at the right time, while people are getting frustrated with the military medium guys of the national team. Would be interesting to see if he can keep this performance up over an extended period of continuous cricket, which would also prove his fitness...

5 wicket-haul for Mumba! :D And we have guys like Muzarabani playing for the national team....

Six wickets now :D

Get him in the team! #mumbamania

Yay! we get a 3 run lead :). Now for the customary Zim collapse in the second dig to lose by a big margin...

Costly double failure for Chirimuuta. Should Mayavo be batting ahead of Gumbie really? Anyway, he should have probably not been in the XI with Gumbie keeping anyway...

That's indeed puzzling.

I do have the gut feeling that Gumbie is another batsman who keeps (in the Regis, Mutizwa, Mutumbami, PJ mode), rather than a keeper who bats. I'm sure I've heard a lot of praise for Gumbie from our people on the ground, but I don't specifically recall them praising his keeping :?:

Nathan Waller's last FC season with the bat was astonishing (for his own standards). I can't believe he stayed in the crease long enough to stitch some scores together. But scares me really of the state of affairs if guys like him are getting a game in the "Emerging Squad". But who knows, he may proves us doubters wrong...
An Emerging team is a development side.. It's lower than the National side, Zim A, Academy side, and the Board XI.. Our pool of players is so small we play the same guys in all the sides.. It's sad really.. Mumba will be promoted to the Zim A team now.. Let him prove himself there before he gets thrown into the deep end.. Not this silly "get him in the team mantra."

We talk up Mumba but the player who should have toungues wagging is Victor Nyauchi who from my eye test has more gas than Mumba. Mumba will have his time but we have to look at Nyauchi's hard work which has wickets on tough Zimbabwean wickets thats a get him in the team lad

You're very correct in saying Nyauchi deserves a spot ahead of Mumba since Nyauchi has bowled well on the flattest of wickets in Zim and in India and Bangladesh while Mumba did do very well on a green and lively HSC and on the green and lively Kwekwe and Country Club wickets.. Nyauchi was very unlucky in that Mayavo had his worst day in the office dropping 4 straight forward chances off Nyauchi or he would have had a fiver in the 1st innings and at least 2/3 in the 2nd innings. But Mumba is at least a yard or two quicker than Nyauchi.. I would put Mumba as the third quickest behind Bidi and Aliseni..

Tawanda Bidi, http://www.espncricinfo.com/zimbabwe/co ... 38163.html right ?

Can you put more light on him ? Why he hasn't played any official cricket yet or will we see him play in foreseeable future ?

Very quick. Very very messy. Should be groomed but haha this is Zimbabwe. Nobody cares about any growth of anything except their bank accounts.
