definitely cannot play like this against Afghanistan. hopefully that's when we get it right. our opening pair needs to come good. Hami is the key because nobody can accelerate like him under pressure. next game is going to be a 180 kind of game. would sacrifice Raza for PJ

A lot of errors in this game as in the Hong Kong game. Unfortunately we just cant seem to get things right. Its like some of the players dont actually learn from their training. It is also clear to see that we are missing the likes of Cremer.
Hamilton has now been runout twice through schoolboy errors. He needs to sort himself out.
Afghanistan have looked solid and they go in to the game as favourites. On current form, I expect them to thrash us to be fair. I can just us falling away against their spin and just giving up. I would have Moor over Mutumbami, but i feel Mutumbamis wk work today will keep him in the side.
Mukhulani is going to be super angry if we lose to Afghanistan. Once again, being a Zim fan is not exactly the best thing.
Positives: nice to see Sean get some runs. Hopefully he can push on in the next game, but hopefully not having to do a rescue mission. Raza took a blinder, but he needs to up his other aspects. We need his spin. There seemed to be a bit more chatter for once in the field, but it is something we need to keep up.

I'll give Richie a break, his keeping was very tidy today and he's proven me wrong for now on that front, however, does he have a brain...I think Jimmy mentioned that Mutumbami is one of the blokes who plays for the pay check (well obviously) only, which doesn't really sit well with me if it's true. He doesn't seem to me learning from those mistakes of seeing the fielders on the boundary, and he clearly doesn't strike the ball cleanly enough to get it over them.
Moor, on the other hand, does. I'd have Moor in for Raza, who's spin I've always said is just cannon fodder, never rated his bowling, and his batting look awful, at the moment...
Bring in somebody fresh and hungry, and see where we go from there. I'd still like to see Chisoro in there somewhere but, it's who to drop as all of our seamers have done a surprisingly good job thus far.
The key, in my opinion, is getting that little pain in the ass out up front; Jesus he can bat. No slogging or anything there, this Shazad is a serious batter and he'll take it away from us if he's not removed early.

Here is where we miss our quick swing bowlers. Someone like Jarvis or Meth could always get Shahzad and Stanikzai cheaply as they lack proper technique. Lets hope Chatara and Panny could bowl their bouncers and keep things tight. We will definitely miss Cremer against Afghans. The biggest threat for us is definitely the two Afghan openers at the top followed by their best player,Nabi. They have a good pace attack, and very good spinners. Either Hami, Waller or Williams should play a big innings for us if we are to win a game. Our middle order still looks fragile and we don't have batters after 7. It's going to be a very good game.

To me the key thing some of the batters are not getting, especially mutumbami is that this ground is huge.both shots he got out with would have been sixes in most grounds that he has played in. he has to adjust to that. if u can't clear then look for fours.

It might also be the reason why Waller has looked strangely becalmed: having realised that this is not a slogging ground he's gone back into his ODI shell. It seems Williams got the dose right yesterday, although I only watched the back end of his innings.

I watched the whole thing and Williams looked absolutely masterful. No risks, and he was scoring at a SR of 160 without any effort. I remember thinking "Williams better start accelarting cuz he's been out there for a while," cuz ai thought he was going at a run a ball. Instead he was 30 off 20 at the time. No slogging, no effor. Took singles, pushed for the odd double, and put the bad omes away for 4.

That reminds me of the time when Sangakarra nonchalantly dsimantled our bowling attack in the world T20 in SL a few years ago. We had them on the ropes a bit, Dilshan and Jayawardene back in the hut, and even Sanga struggling to pick Cremer's googly initially. But then he just started to manoeuvre every good ball into the gaps for twos and to put the fractionally less good ones away. A masterpiece in classical batting if ever I've seen one in a T20.
Scotland looked the most dangerous when they stopped trying to hit every ball over the ropes. The problem with our running is that we currently don't have many guys who are both quick and communicate well together. Williams/Raza could possibly run threes on this ground, but they could equally run each other out off the first ball of their partnership. But we surely must have fulfilled our quota of farcial run outs for this tournament.
