I think until recently where 'the myth' became 'the man' and Jakiel featured in the ZCF Photo Quiz thread most people thought he was white.

Although in his first appearances in ZCF he was known as 'Daniel Jackiel' which begs the question are they two different people?? Maybe the Daniel Jackiel is the myth whilst Daniel Jakiel is the man ??

In a similar situation I always presumed Brian Vitori was white until I saw him play for Zimbabwe the first time 😂 😂 😂

Not sure when and who did that misspelling first, but as far as I remember, gargamel first mentioned Jakiel in 2015 here and he had shared the right spelling too. viewtopic.php?f=3&t=11559&p=82000&hilit=jakiel#p82000

I remember he (or someone else? foreignfield?) had shared a pic of his too, and most of the forum was aware he was an actual person :)

It is only once this idiotic Mark Olonga business started that Jakiel was also mis-spelt by the usual suspects and then the legend carried on.
