It needs looking at and thinking about, but i'm a bit worried about the strength of this squad when the national players are unavailable.

Could we not keep this one seperate zimfan1 ?

im liking the signing of Soloman Mire he is a hard hitting allrounder who was one of the very few shining lights of the last Under 19 world cup

wonder how loong it will take for the Eagles and Tuskers fans to copy us lol

But it doesnt matter as we did it first!!!!! :D

An excellent fightback 168 by BRM in the Logan :D saved our bacon there i think, that's if you can get bacon from a Rhino

I reckon that Justin Lewis deserves a mention also, a career best 32 in a 121 run partnership that used up 36 overs and probably did the most to get us to the draw, useful knocks from Waller, Cremer and Nyathi as well and a magnificent teatime performance from the rain 😂

20 hundreds have now been scored in the Logan this season and we lead the way with 10 of them, 5 for Sibanda, 2 each for BRM and Kasteni and 1 for Wessels, all we need now is for our bowlers to start reaching a higher level of performance.

The Faithwear was a bit close though  , really good to see Rainsford back in action, we've missed him a lot, great all round performance by Waller in the field too and thank goodness Sibanda chose this match to make his first proper runs in the Faithwear this season.

With Taylor, Cremer, Waller and Rainsford back in action and the addition of Wessels, hopefully we should be looking to pluck a few feathers from those Eagles this week and get back above them on points, both sides remain unbeaten so it should be a good scrap.

It's not looking good ............. :(

No BRM to save us tomorrow so it's down to the middle and lower order to produce a miracle this time, we managed to get out of jail against Tuskers but this one isn't looking good, never say never though.

Well done to Friday Kasteni for passing 1000 first class runs today and belated congratulations Vusi Sibanda and Brendan Taylor who both passed 3000 first class runs in the Tuskers match, on top of that both Justin Lewis 32 and Riki Wessels 114 scored their career bests.

There's still a chance we can rescue something out of this game, if the remaining batsmen can hold out and use up some time while putting a few runs on the board we could still pluck a few of those Eagles feathers, Mike Chinouya, Taurai Muzarabani and Graeme Cremer all showed today that they can take wickets and if Ed Rainsford can get in amongst the Eagles batsmen .............

Not a bad effort by Malcolm Waller and Graeme Cremer with the bat in the Logan match, but not quite enough time taken up to make it difficult for Eagles, sadly our bowling just isn't up to it at the moment i'm afraid, although Michael Chinouya put in a good spell, we desperately need a strike bowler.

The one player i'm disappointed isn't getting a chance at the moment, is Brighton Mugochi. He had some good returns, very good returns, last season and while i know that only 11 can play in each game, i think he could do a good job for us, when you consider that we have 3 batsmen, Waller, Innocent Chikunya and Bothwell Chapungu, who have only scored 478 runs between them in 26 innings then i'd seriously consider dropping a batsman to get Mugochi into the XI.

Great start in the Faithwear by Riki Wessels but then that man Ray Price slowed it right down, 268 is never going to be a certain win with Elton Chigumbura around :( a good effort from Dylon Higgins and Cremer with the ball but, once again, we just didn't have the seamers to take wickets.

If there is any chance, not to mention money, to strengthen the side before the new year starts, then i hope we can get hold of a seamer or two, i'm sure there must be a few possibles out there somewhere.
Can I class myself as a temp member while Rikis playing for you? :) Been logging into Cricinfo on match days so far its been very similar to watching Northants!
Im afraid Im still learning about the team so good to find you guys here.
Oh and not sure if this is right place to post this but Im sure someone will say if not but just wanted to say if anyone is following Riki on Twitter it isnt actually him on there. I believe he did know about it as it was set up by someone he knew but he's asked me to try and get it deleted for him as he's fed up with the person concerned writti ng as him. Unfortunetly I cant get it deleted so its got to wait for him to sort out when he's got better internet connections but just wanted to warn anyone who may be following it.

We're more than happy to have you here with us Lou, welcome to ZCF :D

It's especially good to know that there are some sensible, level headed people out there, people who realise that following the Rhinos is the only way to go for those who really enjoy their cricket 😂

The lads have, so far, just been warming up for the post christmas/new year gallop to the trophy cupboard, i hope that Kenyon Ziehl and Andy Waller remember to employ a couple of permanent staff for silver polishing duties ........ ;)

Enjoy the rest of the season
Thankyou! :D
Dont get to talk much cricket in my limited contact with Riki while he's there so its good can come here and catch up on that side.
(well thats unless he's wanting to know the stats of his 114 innings of course! ;) )
I do actually enjoy watching and have done for quite a few years (still a bit of a rare thing here in UK women who appreciate the game as a game.Tho I am meeting more and more.)
But also understand a player doesnt always want to be talking cricket when its his job.
Fingers crossed on that Silverware then!
